Nice to hear that they Disqualified all of these idiots. Badminton is the cousin of Tennis anyways.

Memorial Day party games shouldn't be Olympic sports. Maybe Horseshoes should be added for 2016 in Rio.

LOL, I play horseshoes religiously, but it doesn't exactly belong in the Olympics. Same with Bowling and Billiards.

They were already in the next round so they wanted to better position themselves...but they were just way too obvious about it.

Badminton is

But they felt that losing was a winning strategy in the long run. Not the most traditional approach but hey if they felt it gave them a better chance to get to their ultimate goal than it is hard to argue...

Badminton rocks if you ask me.  Took it in college and we played indoors.  It's an awesome work out and challenging if you play someone with some skills.  No different than tennis really.

People have done a lot crazier things in the name of winning.  They obviously thought the potential reward was worth the risk.  I don't know how you can throw a badminton match without it looking obvious.  It's not like basketball where you can fake a bad shooting night or something.

But what a bunch of idiots.  They were even warned by the referee to try harder and they continued to tank it.

The crowd started chanting "off, off, off!"

Played hardcourt badmiton in college too. Super hardcore game.

Asians were always tough to beat. No matter how hard you smash it the bird comes back..

It was bad for the sport and for the spectators. The punishment was correct.

I understand the idea of losing for position it happens all the time but I just watched that video. That was ridiculous!! I agree with the penalty.

The issue had more to do with the rules. It's more about getting more favorable seatings.

I doubt Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte were going all out in the prelims, but just to make it to the Finals before they turned it on.

I agree with the punishment, but something is seriously wrong with the seeding structure if four teams are all tanking on purpose to get a softer opponent in the next round.

The decision was correct but I would put more blame on the coaches and the rule change which only starts on this Olympics.
