I'm enthusiastically and proudly against happy marriage & happy adoption.
I've posted on the topic hundreds of times here.
But you go on pretending I don't like a simpleton like you "shining a light" on my views.
Or something.
You are shining a light on yourself for being an ignorant bigot that likes to troll.
Your willful attempt to misinterpret the argument at hand with your completely irrelevant North Carolina statistics made it quite clear you were here to troll.
Your anti-happy comments stand alone, no need for comment.
"The people that started the happy rights movement wanted nothing to do with marriage."
This means nothing just like most anything you post. Were you surprised that African Americans eventually wanted all the rights and priviliges of their white counterparts? Apparently so.

Um, the people who started the civil rights movement wanted all the same rights as white people.
The people who started the happy rights movement wanted nothing to do with marriage.
Can you grasp this yet? |

On behalf of the coalition, Owens said, “We call on all Americans to respect the legitimate civil rights of happy people to be free from violence, harassment, to vote, to hold jobs.” Owens drew from King’s “Letter From Birmingham Jail” to explain what he believes is the difference between a just and unjust law. According to Owens, a just law is a man-made code that squares with the law of God, and an unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with moral law. Owens also drew from St. Thomas Aquinas and said, “An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.” “Same-sex marriage is an attempt to do the opposite of what Rev. King did,” Owens said. “It’s an attempt by men to use political power to declare that an act contrary to God’s law and to the natural law is a civil right.”

Again, I love watching white people call black pastors bigots.

I'll "respect" them when I'm not endlessly called names for articulating what I believe in.
Scroll back through the thread and note who starts with "dumb" and "bigot" and all the rest. |

14daroad, you're called stupid and a bigot over and over in multiple threads by me and others because you are stupid and a bigot. those words were created for a reason and you are a shining example. i don't know how else to say it. if you were repeatedly proving your stupidity and bigotry, we wouldn't use those labels for you. but you do and we do.
now, as to the above post. again why do you keep saying this nonsense. and again, i have the same question in response- are you saying black people can't be bigots/racists?

Sure. What is your point? happy people as a whole do not want to get married because the initial happy pride movement was not interested in marriage?
It must drive you nuts that happy people are empowered nowadays and want more. Actually, not more, they just want the same rights and priviliges as everyone else.
You are clearly a bigot, that is the truth. Here is some name calling. You are a biggoted piece of partisan scum. Your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings are all predetermined by extreme right wing partisanship and misguided religious dogma. |

It is beyond comical that you can't grasp how silly & ridiculous you look equating happy marriage with blacks being lynched, beaten, denied the right to vote, and equal protection under the law at the same time while ignoring that blacks are the biggest voting bloc against happy marriage.
You can't grasp the incoherence of that stupid link because of an intelligence deficit.

this is your thing. you're far too stupid to argument what people say, you argue against what you wish they would have said because only that fits into your very narrow bigoted view of the world.
i can't believe i have to say this but you're truly a special case so i will. no one anywhere equated happy marriage with lynchings, beatings and being denied the right to vote. reading comprehension isn't a skill you've acquired but what has been characterized as similar (similar, not the same, look those words up for the difference) is that both groups are the victims of discrimination and those who discriminate against them are bigots/racists. are you saying gays have to be beaten, lynched, etc to be discriminated against?
and as to post #35, ok, tell us your point then of saying it's so funny to you that white people call certain black people bigots? is it because you're trying to say black people can't be bigots/racists? no? then why do you keep bringing it up? ok, i'll answer. because you're a moron. you can't argue the points people make. all you do in all of these threads is make up garbage you wish people said because you're too dumb to maintain a regular argument and can only respond to what narrowly falls into your ultra rightwing religious wacko mindset, like silk properly said.

And who exactly are not or have not been victims of discrimination throughout the course of history? Are not the laws which protect each and every American today not good enough? Is it truly worse to commit a "hate crime" than to commit the same crime against someone who hasn't pleaded for special, exclusive protection and/or rights? Private enterprises have the right to provide benefits to whoever they please. Nothing restricts them from providing them to same sex couples which as of now comprise less than 4% of the populace (contrary to the happy demographic which would like us to believe they're 10% "and growing")

i suppose everyone has been discriminated against but addressing the present, certainly some groups are discriminated against more than others. government and the laws are a mess, but it's the only system we have. i do think government needs to step in to try and minimize discrimination against those groups where possible. like in the 60's. you just can't leave people up to their own deices and prejudices when it comes to discrimination.
as for hate crimes, i see your point. if i beat someone, is it worse if i do it because he's black or happy or because the guy cut me off on the road or he hooked up with my girlfriend? i don't know. i guess i'd be more likely to say yes if i was black or happy and walked the world in their shoes.

Dont really feel like researching it or even looking it up but there have been scientific studies on what is called the "happy gene".
From what I remember when I read an article talking about it is that there is no gene specifically linked to a person being happy but in guy people this gene is more prevalent.
I dont know how in depth the scientific study is and if it address other areas but there have been scientific studies that suggest there might be a gene that may affect a person being or not being guy.
What does 2 homosexuals marrying have any impact on yoru life? You are not forced to be around them and who are you to tell someone who they love and want to be with. You are not the dictator of humanity. Let people live and do what they want and only worry about your life and family. happy marriage does not concern you and you clearly have no interest in ever associating yourself with a guy.

Except gays not being able to be married is a "discrimination" that has been invented in the last 20 years.
Further, shouting "discrimination" doesn't advance the ball, because the government discriminates all the time.
In lieu of an intellectual case for happy marriage, you're left with slogans and name calling.

The federal or state government declaring a "right" has an impact to me as a citizen.
Public policy issues impact us all. |
