"Here is a hint: America is full of mountains."

Mountains! Wonder how the European trains navigate the Alps. Goddamn mystery, I guess.

He's certainly accomplished his fair share since he's taken office.  I would be very surprised if he lost the 2012 election.

Um, nobody said they didn't.

I'm talking specifically about "high speed rail"

America is just a bit bigger than the spaces the "European Trains" travel, clown.

You don't have any grasp of topography.

Of course we knew that already.

Yes, he's overseen successive trillion dollar + deficits, and 2 + years of 9+ percent unemployment.

Quite the accomplishments.

CIVIL ENGINEERING is the act of manipulating the environment for the good of man. All your ignorant bias aside, you really think America doesn't have the technology to do this? SERIOUSLY?

Hysterical.

Um, if the "technology" existed to do it in a profitable manner, it would be happening.

You can't seem to grasp such an elemental point.

But, assume for a second that by an engineering miracle, a train could travel at "high speed" averaging 100MPH between NYC and Chicago. It still would cost more and take more time versus traveling by air.

See, you don't really care about "reducing dependence on mid-east oil" you want to force something on consumers they do not like, because it makes you feel good inside.

The US imports more non-OPEC oil than it does oil from OPEC countries.  That is a fact.

If you wanted to reduce the dependence on foreign imports you would: be in favor of more nuclear power and be in favor of more domestic oil exploration & production.

You aren't.

And the reason is clear.

Actually, I am. You are pigeon-holing me. Once more, I'm no Democrat. Makes it convenient to call me one, I guess.

Obama only has 8 years do it. He needs 25 years to clean the mess that the previous adminsitration/s messed up.

what next after obama care? mandatory life insurance? why not, if they can make you pay for health care and you don't want it, they can make you pay for whatever they want. It is unconstitutional and that is a fact.

That's funny, my dad just got a letter on Monday informing him that his healthcare plan was being terminated at the end of the month due to funding issues....

Obama the greatest president?  A foreign muslim socialist bought and paid for by George Soros,...that president? How you like the change? Got any left in your pocket? Oh, by the way, muslims are not required to buy that mandatory health care. Only Christians. Fortunately the Republicans aren't buying it and aren't paying for it along with the 1200 IRS agents he wants to hire.  Wake up before you lose your country.
