What the Hey! Might as well give you my thoughts on SO FLA O8.5
Mind you, the Miami post was in jest most of the time, but I don't mind poking the bear a little bit. Still believe in Miami at 7
Get ready for some more:
With many returning starters in offensive weapon positions, I really like Willie Taggart's bunch. Yes, he lost his DC, but they are keeping the same scheme in place with 7 returning starters on the defense. Only issue is offensive line, with 2 returning starters, but the offensive weapons? Look out!
9/3 Towson. Great warmup game to get ready for the Huskies the following week. Win by 30. 1-0
9/10 Northern Illinois. Great matchup. This will test the mettle of the Bulls against a perennial non Power 5 team. NIU has lost a little bit from last year, and being in Tampa, might likened it to a vacay. Bad doggies! Bulls win by 8. 2-0
9/17 @ Syracuse. Great Power 5 team non-conf foe. Why? Because the Orangemen suck! Well they don't suck, but I guarantee you, when they accepted this game they thought it would be a nice win for the home crowd. Au contraire moi fraire! Bulls will be favored by 2 and win by 17. 3-0
9/24 FSU. Ewww. Hate this game. Why play 2 ACC schools? Did you get Miami's AD/scheduling person? Dumb, dumb,...well, you get the picture. FSU still doesn't have the QB position figured out and if they lose to Ole Miss, they are going to have to win out to get the playoffs. FSU is too deep, but it'll be close. Loss. 3-1
10/1 @Cinn. Hate where this game shows up on the schedule. Never like a team coming off their first loss, especially at home, going on the road to a team who has HUGE revenge factor motivation. USF won by like 30 last year. The Fighting Gunner Kiels may have something to say about that despite being guided by Tommy Tuberville. Loss. 3-2
10/8 ECU. Time to right the ship, but it won't be easy. Then again, ECU isn't the ECU of old and the Bulls are at home. Time for a little home cookin. Win. 4-2
10/15 Conn. I know UConn beat Houston last year, spare me the details. UConn in Storrs, a little bit formidable. UConn on the road? Enjoy the 20 hour bus ride to Tampa. SMH. Win. 5-2
10/21 @ Temple on a Friday night. Here is the make or break game of the year. USF has the talent to beat Temple and coulda/shoulda last year. In Philly, I don't know. Not even sure where Temple finds grass to practice on. Tough mothers! Going with the upset as Taggert's bunch finds a way to win! Cheesesteaks for everyone! 6-2
10/28 Navy. Another Friday night game. Always a tough opponent, especially with the option offense. Stack the box! And hope you can stop them. New QB at Navy, so no Reynolds, plus in Tampa. No shore leave for the Midshipmen. Bulls win, but it will be close. 7-2
11/5 A much needed bye week before 2 straight roadies
11/12 @ Memphis. Everyone relax. Fuentes...gone...Paxton Lynch....gone....etc., etc...Tough game. Probably at night. Lock your car doors, or better yet stay home and watch it on tv. If in Memphis near an airport hotel, move. USF wins. 8-2
11/19 @ SMU. I love Chad Morris. One of the brilliant offensive minds in the game. Just needs the tools. Doesn't have them this year. Yet, this may be the breakout game the Mustangs need and I believe they pull the upset here. Loss. 8-3
11/26 UCF. Well, let's see....actually don't. This is going to get ugly quick. UCF thought the Pirates of the Caribbean were scary? Then they didn't watch any of their game films from last year or this year! Bulls by 22 9-3
I know I only have USF squeaking in there, but that is with an upset win and an upset loss. Trust the roll, USF is really strong!
