FIU Is pretty far from South Beach, pretty sure the coaches will be on top of all that. Indiana routes a FIU team with little offense. This is my game of the week for week 1. The line has moved from 2 to 8 the biggest move of any game from initial lines.

I live in the middle of South Beach, but I will be leaving that Wednesday for Vegas. Otherwise I would be happy to alert you of Indiana football players and 2 am bar fights.

Yeah MBG just not sure that matters much on a week 1 game. FIU has no home field advantage and frankly Indiana might travel as many fans as FIU has at the game.

I agree. I love Florida international in this match up, to cover the points. Many people objectively will look at this game and say "how could you not bet Indiana", but FIU over performs on Thursday night, and the over perform at home. I believe both teams will have a chance to win the game late into the fourth quarter

SHUA just when I was starting to like you from some of the other games we have talked about. FIU plays well on Thursday nights? Could you give me a more useless angle? This might have some use if it this was not the opening week of the season. If anything FIU would be better with a day game and heat. Name any player on the FIU offense that you expect to put up 50 yards rushing or receiving?

They over performed at home until WKU beat them 63-7 in the last game. They did not out perform at home in the 2 seasons before that. If your belief in FIU performing well at home is based on 3
blowout wins over Charlotte,Utep, Old Dominion I am not buying that being a great reason to bet on them versus a decent big 10 team.

bi no play - IU system will score points, probably 40, and also their terrible D will give up that much...i see tauts promoting IU...I saw them lose to Duke at the pinstripe bowl on a missed FB in OT. Indiana's best QB in a generation graduated. FIU playing with South Fla talent...Just to much uncertainty...I will be on the sideline for this one, hoping my Hoosiers pull off the win...

LHH, nice spot to watch the game from.... Love being on the sidelines. Enjoy the game and Go Hoosiers! Before the game if an opportunity presents itself, say hi to KJ and James P. from the TD family. They worked with the Old Man at Northwestern. .... Sounds like a fun trip to start the year. Have fun.

Golden Panthers have a lot of returning starters on both sides of the ball....and yes the South Florida talent is something to consider. These cats will have a chip on their shoulder.

2 big undervalued commodities here are FIU rushing attack and Indiana QB position. I think a healthy Diamont beats out Lagow and produces dynamic offense for IU.
FIU losing their proven DC unexpectedly could hinder progress on that side of the ball. Not good for week 1 vs an undervalued high power offense.

Hey I am only forecasting 85% humidity on my long term weather model. FIU talent (South Florida talent) All this amazing FIU talent somehow lost 52-0 Marshall and then 63-7 at home to WKU to end the season? Indiana ended regular season power rating 128 FIU 103. Not sure how they closed the gap, (Yes I know IU loses the star QB) FIU has nothing on offense!

Lets talk about the skill guys now. Starting with conference USA, FIU 8th best OL, 4th best Qb, 10th best Rb, 9th best Wr units. They return a qb who averaged 6.48 per attempt, a Rb who averaged 4.1 per carry and had a season long carry of 36 yards. The leading RB is also the leading returning WR with 60 catches for 442 a 7.4 avg with a long catch of 27 yards. Thomas Owens had 51-638 12.5 avg with 8 tds. Just not sure how an offense that averaged 347.8 yards a game 106th in the nation improves much from last season. Lets keep in mind those offensive stats are versus some horrible defenses last season. Now onto the Indiana offense. Indiana starts with the 4st best Oline in the Big 10 very impressive the 4th best WR unit, only the 11th qb unit, and 10th rb unit. Junior college transfer Richard Lagow is likely to be the starter. Devine Redding takes over the main role at Rb, had 1012 yards and 9tds as the 2nd back last season. Simmie Cobbs is the main Wr target now and had 60 catches for 1035 yards but only 4tds last season. Rickey Jones is the 2nd Wr and he had 54-906 last season. The O-line returns 3 starters and experienced backups. The offense starts 6 seniors 4 juniors and 1 sophomore. I will state again Indiana was -5 ypg last season FIU was -58 ypg (consider the schedules they did this again)! Standing by Indiana-8 as my game of the week for week 1 (38-17)!

I'm not overly concerned with this game, and as you will see I'll be shittting winners week 1. (See d1aa vs FBS games)
Indiana loses a ton since it will be hard to replace, and I do not believe they will be acclimated enough to the heat. They very easily could've lost last year. FIU is really starting to put some things together with Ron turners crew. I would venture to say that in the middle of the third-quarter Indiana will be sucking wind and struggling in the trenches, either way I believe that each team will have a chance to win in the 4th Q

Man,
Your analizing this game like you have already bet on IU and you are still trying to convince yourself.
You aren't at all concerned about IU losing a boss running back, stellar QB and breaking in new guys ?
All you're talking about is offense. What are the FIU front seven creates havoc and Indiana only has 12 yards rushing in the first half. If I get pressure upfront in Indiana can't throw the ball?
What if down seven, Fiu quarterback throws a game-tying touchdown pass and the game goes over time, instead of a 97 yard interception return for a touchdown for Indiana to win by 14, like last year?
Indiana's defense is awful And have been for many years. What about that side of the ball would make you want to live more than a touchdown on the road
