Grier as you may recall was suspended by the NCAA for 1 calendar year following his testing positive for PED's. Grier announced months back that he would transfer and it has come out that he will transfer to West Virginia
Here's what makes all this interesting because he is transferring and isn't close to graduating he has to sit out the 2016 season. However his PED suspension is frozen and won't come up until 2017 when he's eligible to play and at that point he will be suspended until October 12th 2017
West Virginia very shortly will be filing paperwork with the NCAA to try to either get Grier's suspension overturned or to have it count for 2016 meaning he'd be eligible for the 2017 opener. If he isn't eligible he will be on scholarship for 3 years to play 1.5 seasons for West Virginia
Here are my thoughts:
1. I like Grier as a qb and think he'll do well in that offense
2. I honestly don't know if he should or shouldn't be eligible for the 2017 opener. IMO I see this case ending up in court
3. I would assume that West Virginia has already had lawyers look at this to see what their chances are of getting the suspension served this season
4. What will the NCAA do? Who the F%CK knows
Just keeping everyone informed Your thoughts on all this guys?
