Miami first game is up against Bethune cookman. Bethune did pretty good last year 9 and 3. I have the point spread at -7 Miami I'm thinking of getting large on maimi. Phil Steele this willbe this year's most improved team. Tell me why or why not this is a good bet?

Ohhh yeah I'm pounding this game for sure even at -38. I'm also pounding total games won over. -5.5 Miami. Remember Phil Steele said this is his number one most improved this year. Last year Steele picked tcu for his most improved team and they went from a 4-8 team in 2013 to a 12-1 team in 2014

Miami is always a talented team and this year they will also have a strong quarterback . They are known to underachieve and with alot of new faces and inexperience, I don't see anything different especially for the first game of the season against mediocre opponent .

Spot on analysis IMO!
I'm leaning Bethune Cookman +38 in this one, since plenty of 2nd and 3rd teamers on the Canes will get action. Miami will win this one by 31 to 34. Close to the number, but not enough for the cover IMO.
I've circled the 2nd game when Miami visits FAU. That will be a beatdown by the Canes. Not sure what the spread will be, but I see Miami winning by 21 to 24 points, if not more.

You know the reason why I like Miami in this game is the athletes are just better and more equipped its sad to say but this just no money when it comes to black colleges no good football coach is going to coach there because they will not pay them. Also the equipment and training is better for division 1 schools. I have heard of tales of big schools giving out duffle bags of cash to players

Which in my opinion is why New Mexico, Cal, Colorado State & La Tech should all be evaluated and considered in week 1.
CSU has savannah who we all know are historically bad not to mention that they were not granted spring practices do to apr scores. Even at 49 points it should be looked at.
New Mexico has the worst team in this abismal conference, MVSU. They won one game last year and most importantly they were also not granted spring practices due to apr bans. Combine that with a team that's running the triple option offense which is hard enough to stop if you can't prepare for it and you possibly have a 45+ victory for NMSU.
Cal has GramblinG, this ones a bit more interesting because GSU wasnt bad last year but they're coming off two back to back 1 win season the years before and there school still lacks athletic funding for training facilities and good coaching. Cal puts up 60 +?
La Tech has southern who is also a decent school but they lost a lot of talent from last years team and like I mentioned before, were banned from spring practices. La tech returns a TON in the secondary as well as the backfield and Jeff Driskel should fit in well enough for the talent difference to equal 40+W?
All in all these schools flat out don't get the funding they need nor the talent they need to compete with some of these FBS schools. The worst SWAC and MEAC schools stand no chance against good FBS teams or any FBS team that runs the triple option. And any team that didn't have a spring practice are in a bad spot for week 1.

actually MSVSU won 2 games last year for a record of 2-9.They also got a new coach but are still in the rebuilding stage

Also Rutgers plays Norfolk state. last year MEAC had suspended 11 players from Norfolk state for fighting in a game against south Carolina state and they will not be playing in the opening game Rutgers plays at home and a -37 point favorite. Rutgers is 3-0 against Norfolk state all being shutouts. Sounds like cash money to me

The article on ESPN did not state who the players where that got suspended but its pretty good assumption that it was composed mostly of defensive players that got suspended because they where on the field at the time judging by the YouTube video

I was wondering exactly who it is that got suspended. Considering the defense was the ONE strong point of that team, this could be a decent play.
It just scares me that though thy are 3-0 with 3 shutouts vs this team, Rutgers only covered the spread once and are 1-4 ATS against FCS teams in the last 5 years..
Still worth a look though, Norfolk can't score to save it's life, more importantly can't pass at all.

This reminds me of the time after the Jerry Sandusky scandal and no body wanted to play for Penn state and Penn state got hammered the first game of the season against the point spread. I can't remember who they played

Rutgers sophomore lavaiano QB has a 39.3 % completion record and only 107 yards so he is unproven. Im not sure I want to take this game however if they take Hayden Rettig a transfer that sat out from LSU which his high school completetion record is over 50% I think we can beat the point spread
