Here we go men, 2015 is getting closer and closer. As some of you know I do a preview of the season every year. In years past I have done a write up on every college football team. Truth is I just don't have the time nor energy to write up my thoughts on every team these days. But if you ask for a specific team I will give you my thoughts on that team.
I will previewing several different things in this thread. I will start with my pre season Top 25
1.Ohio st 2.TCU 3. Michigan st 4. Notre Dame 5. LSU 6. Baylor 7. USC 8. Clemson 9. Auburn 10. Georgia 11. Alabama 12. Florida st 13. Stanford 14.Tennessee 15. Oregon 16. Georgia Tech 17. UCLA 18. Arkansas 19. Utah 20. Oklahoma 21. Boise st 22. Wisconsin 23. Penn st 24. Louisville 25. Virginia Tech
Just missed the top 25:
First 5 out: Ole miss, Miami, Arizona st, Michigan, Texas
Next 5 out: Minnesota, Kansas st, Oklahoma st, NCST, Arizona

Bama at #11? You gonna piss a-lot of bama fans off lol
I see Bama as top 5
Defense is stout and even with Kiffen there I see them winning the SEC.
I love that you have Notre Dame ranked so high, I feel they are a true contender.
I dont see Az St on there and Im kinda high on them actually Im high on both Arizona teams.
You know me. I could care less if I piss anyone off...LOL
But with that being said, Alabama isn't a top 5 team right now. Every poll feels as if they have to put them in the top 5, Look last time we seen Alabama they got TRUCKED by Ohio st. Don't let that score fool you either, they got their sh!t pushed in.
Alabama doesn't scare me. I think there a great football team so don't mis read me here...I just think they have taken a step back. Let's look at last year for just a second...
They got beat by Ole Miss.....TCU had no problems with them
Let's be honest about the Arkansas game...They should have lost!
Auburn and Ohio st hung right at 50 on them.
Is Alabama a top 10 to 15 team... yes, no question. The talent alone says they are.... But this isn't 2010 right now and Alabama is/has IMO, taken a step back. Can they rebound? Of course they can, but let's see it.
When I put this poll together I put alot of thought in it. I put these teams where they belong according to how I see them. like I said many many times before........... I trust my eyes much more than ESPN.

Here is a list of teams that IMO, will be much improved over what we've seen in the last few years:
1) Arkansas - This team has my eyes on them. I really like the make up of this team. I love the running game and underrated WR group, but with that said im not the biggest Bielema fan.... the guy is a little goofy IMO. This defense lost alot and if they can play better...watch out. This team could contend for the West.
2) Tennessee - If you not paying attention to what Butch Jones is doing then you're not doing your homework. Look, Tennessee is good... really good. only reason I didn't have them higher in my poll is because I want to see how these guys handle a little success. You want to find a real true gem? Go look at this D-Line. It's nasty, I think it's on par with last years Clemson's D-Line.
3) Virginia Tech - Brewer is still the QB so I know it's a shock to see them on this list. But with that returning defense, I think they are much improved.
4) Texas - Charlie Strong is in year 2. Look for another step forward. If this guy does what I think he can do, Texas will be back starting next season....But dont right off this year either. I think they can improve to a 8 or even 9 win team.
5) Michigan - In comes Harbaugh. This hire alone wakes the sleeping giant known as Michigan football. This team will be competitive in every game they play.
6) Colorado - Colorado is almost like a no brainer. They have to improve right..LOL? I know it's gonna be hard for me to convince you guys, but yes, Colorado will flirt with going to a bowl game.
7) NCST - This team is a real sleeper this year not only in the ACC, but overall across the nation. Dave Doren has it rolling right now and Jacoby Brissett is solid QB. Jacoby isn't on any radars right now, but watch this guy sneak up draft boards come next April. This is a legit NFL arm and he has all the tools.
8) Illinois - This team has been lost and forgotten since the Ron Zook era. But I think this might be the season they take another step forward. How big?? maybe 7 wins. 8 at the most... Tim Beckman is coaching for his job.
9) West Virginia - Is it possible that a Holgorsen team be led by it's defense? It might just happen this year. West Virginia can be a legit contender in what I think is a loaded Big 12 this year.
10) California - This along with Arkansas and Tennessee is my team to watch this year. If you don't understand the history of offense and how true spread football was introduced. You need to go back and do some homework on Sonny Dykes dad...Spike . These guys are true innovators of offensive football. I think Sonny is a diamond in the rough. Love this guy and think he puts the bears back on the map starting NOW. I guarantee you right now that California will do 2 things this year. 1) go to a bowl game...2) go over their team total of 5 wins. This is a no brainer for season totals right now. If you like money.....bet the over 5 for Cal season win total today.

Excellent read as always ... Been waiting for you to Post this Info ... Hoping to make some Fantastic Coin this fall and get all of us here on Covers to work together .. Clearly winning money and getting our DEGEN fix is the Goal
We Strongly disagree on the TOP 25 ( which is Good ) We are way off on LSU , Notre Dame , Alabama ,Michigan St , Louisville ,Arizona , Arizona St
However I strongly Agree with your Teams that will be improved List ... Especially NC St , thinking they knock off Florida St this season and finish 2nd in the Division ... CAL is going Bowling and I Love the Over 5 Wins but the juice is insane -230 ... Illinois is the only team on this list I don't like !!!!
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

Double - We agree on alot of teams in the top 25.... But we must really dis agree on LSU and Notre Dame.
I think both are teams with legit rosters.... Notre Dame is loaded with Kelly having his best team and LSU loaded on both sides with Fournette being the 2nd best back in country IMO. Chubb is the best IMO.
I can understand the dis agreement... But not to have them in your top 25???
Agree to disagree
One more thing. There wasn't a more overrated group last year then Ole Miss. They were WAY OVER HYPED by ESPN. Way over hyped.... and have no business being in any top 25 IMO

LSU and Notre Dame are loaded with talent , but their schedules are BRUTAL ... Especially LSU , who I believe has their hardest schedule in many years, Season Wins under 8 is +140
... The Irish I am just NO BUYING et , however bettors are, I see their season wins is -150 over 9
Predicted Notre Dame Losses Ga Tech , at Clemson , vs USC , Choke at Pitt ?? , at Stanford
LSU Losses??? at Miss St , vs Auburn , at SC , at Bama, vs Arkansas , at Ole Miss

Yes Ole Miss was really Hyped last season ... I liked them as well coming into the season ... Seemed worn out as the season progressed ...lost a few close ones as well ... Defense should be really solid .... Not bad catching at Florida and Hosting Vanderbilt this season .. Thinking 7-5 or 8-4 ?? 8-4 would get them in the top 25 .... We will disagree on how tough the West was last season , I think the squads beat the piss out of each other ..
This season I think Notre dame will be the most Over hyped squad coming into the season .. If they roll Texas the Hype machine should avalanche ... 10/3 Clemson -3.5 vs Notre dame is looking really tasty !!!

1) Arkansas - This defense lost alot and if they can play
better...watch out. This team could contend for the West.
I agree Arkansas will
be strong; have them in the top 8-9 for offseason power ratings that I'm still
working through. The problem is linemakers agree and already are hiking
up the price on Arkansas. I think the
D-line will be ok despite the losses of Flowers and Philon. In the spring, Bielema said they have the
best D-line depth since he arrived. JC
DE Jeremiah Ledbetter was difficult to block in spring practice. On offense I think Allen takes the next step
as an efficient, solid QB to go with that outstanding running game.
2) Tennessee - I want to see how these guys handle a little
success.
Similar to Arkansas,
the linemakers have their eye on the Volunteers.Opened as 3 point favorites over Oklahoma. Agree that they’ll need to learn to handle
success to have a chance in the east.Talent upgrades in recent recruiting classes are there.
3) Virginia Tech - Brewer is still the QB so I know it's a
shock to see them on this list. But with that returning defense, I think they
are much improved.
Agree on both points;
like the D-Line and Secondary; hopefully Facyson comes back 100%.I’m trying to give the offense the benefit of
the doubt that they’ll be improved. Some
nice young playmakers, but the O-line (bad for a few years now) and QB play
must improve.
5) Michigan - This team will be competitive in every game they
play.

Again, similar to Arkansas and Tennessee, preseason linemakers have adjusted for Colorado improvement.I haven’t fully reviewed Colorado yet.Honorable Mention All Pac-12 NT Josh Tupou is Out for ’15 as of last week.
7) NCST - Dave Doren has it rolling right now.
Dave Doeren, there’s another e in there. My Dad worked with Dave.Good guy.He wants to run the ball, but still have some balance and play solid defense (former DC).NCST offense ran for 163 ypg in his first season with many new O-line starters and ran for 205 ypg last year.Prior to Doeren’s arrival, the previous five seasons Rushing Offense ypg were 111, 105, 123, 121, and 123.With Thornton back (assuming he stays out of trouble) and a really nice ’15 class of new RBs, they appear to have a stable of backs for future seasons and should be 200+ ypg again.Only 3-5 record in conference last year with wins over only Syracuse, Wake Forest and UNC.I think they’ll do well this year vs. a soft non-conf schedule, but it would be quite a step up to legitimately challenge in the Atlantic. Not really seeing that big of a step just yet.
8) Illinois - This team has been lost and forgotten since the Ron Zook era. But I think this might be the season they take another step forward. How big?? maybe 7 wins. 8 at the most... Tim Beckman is coaching for his job.
Disagree here.Outside of their first two games, I think it’s going to be a long year.I think their O-line is not very good and they know it; hence the 3 JC transfers brought in on the O-line.In Beckman’s three seasons at Illinois the O-line has allowed 37, 30, and 39 sacks and paved the way for a running game with only 117, 139, and 128 ypg.Wes Lunt is a decent QB, but not the running type.He needs better protection to stay healthy. And with top WR Dudek out for most of the year, I think they’ll struggle.Wouldn’t surprise me at all if this team quits on Beckman. The offseason reports on Beckman have not been positive.

Covers limited number of characters rule sure can be annoying... copy/paste. Again....
10) California -
This along with Arkansas and Tennessee is my team to watch this year.
I would like to see
Cal do well. Dad was calling plays there
when they had Marshawn, DeSean, Forsett, Hawkins, Jordan. Really good memories watching that team as
Pac-10 co-champs. In ’15 I agree Cal
should be improved again in Dykes 3rd year. The offense will do what they do in Dykes
offense and put up a lot of points.
Front 7 on defense should be improved, and how can the secondary not be
improved, right??

The problem with loving Colorado is the fact that the books also appear to love Colorado.
I was shocked to see the Hawaii spread at double digits. I'll lay the points (which I am never a fan of).
I can't imagine the UMass line will be under 3 TDs, which I will also lay the chalk in that game as well.
I also saw the GOY number on the Oregon game. -16 is usually the 1st quarter spread. Not sure the Buffs will be able to stand up to the likes of Oregon and USC, but I have the Arizona game circled as an underdog moneyline special. Hopefully I can get some sort of points at Oregon State and Wazzu, but I think they will be favored in Pullman.
The CU team total of 4.5 would be a max bet to the over for me if I had access to these types of wagers. I am sure I will later in the year, but once the steam settles, I'll probably have to pay -175 to -200.

To pick ur super capper brain ... what do u think about
North Carolina Will the defense be good enough to make them a 8-4 ATS type squad ????
I noticed you are High on West Virginia , do u think the Neers and Maybe Oklahoma St will offer great ATS value in BIG 12 play ????
Ohio St has a joke of a schedule ... assuming they get to the BIG 10 Championship with ease , can Wisconsin get revenge ???
Wondering if U have gotten a chance to look at the MAC yet ??? I LOVE WESTERN MICHIGAN , AKRON AND OHIO THIS SEASON $$$$ WHAT YA THINK ???
1) UNC.... does UNC look good on paper? Yes. Do they dynamic talent at the skill position? Yes. Do they have one of the 20 best QB's in the country? Without question....But they have Larry Fedora, which IMO is among the worst coaches in our game. He is beyond clueless at times and I think every year he is the reason why they lose 1-3 games because of him...and that is a big problem. UNC is probably one of those teams you must wait and see.... Opening night vs S.C??? I don't know to be honest with ya. My gut says S.C still wins that game.
2) I do think both will...But I will say this, I think the entire Big 12 has value. It's loaded and if you asked me today I think it might be the best overall conference coming into 2015...
1 A - Big 12 1 B - SEC ACC - Pac 12 - Big 10 all about =
3) Yes Ohio st has the worst schedule I have ever seen...it's absolutely a JOKE. It will be interesting to see if the " committee " treats them like they did FSU last year.....
4) capping the MAC is like playing roulette..it really is. I know one team from that league that will be very good... and its Toledo.
and I have to strongly....and I mean STRONGLY disagree with the statement of the West last year " beating up on each other "... Who told you that? Espn???? In all my years of doing this I never seen a league so over hyped... Call it what you like but when TCU hangs 40+ points in the first half I think it was vs the " mighty LAND shark defense if the SEC "....There is nothing beat up about that....it's called over hyped
