its scary with a new OC, as bad as UF looked last season on offense, even with the catastrophic losses like Driskell.
With that being said, Muschamp is a warrior and a SOB, who not only wants to win, but wants to beat the hell out of the other team. He is the George Patton of College Football. And, surprisingly, after last season, he is on the seat. Any below 7 and 5, and he will shown the door and he will go back to doing what he does best, Coordinating Defenses.
I have faith in him. I believe Florida has Top 10 in the nation talent. In addition, I believe there are only 3 or 4 team with less talent than Idaho (FIU, UMASS, and E Michigan come to mind). Yes, they have a Petrino as coach, and he will eventually help them win a few games in the SBC, but with a new top QB, new top RB and D that gave up 46.8 points a game last season, do you honestly believe that Florida is going to have a tough time, scoring points. In addition, Idaho only averaged 18.2 last season. Granted, they were young last season in the first year of Petrino's system. But, do you honestly think they are going to go into the swamp and get past the 50 yard line with a hungry Muschamp and a bunch of hungry gators chompin at the bit.
Yes, I know Florida lost at home 20-26 to Georgia Southern last season. Yes, that was two games ago. But with a new OC, a new hunger, and Muschamp on the hot seat, I see a dominating Florida D, that will create many many scoring opps for Florida. Muschamp needs to send a message to the Florida faithful, that the Gators are back and heading in the right direction as the SEC schedule approaches...

In add due respect to Wise and BA, have you watched the Florida Spring Game for 2014 or highlights of the game??? I have...I agree its dumb to assume that Florida will show up big in the first game after such a dismal 2013 campaign...I think those of us who have showed some support for Florida not only believe the tremendous talent on campus in Gainsville along with high level coaching combined fading a quasi Division II FCS Program in Idaho.
Since you guys are the value gurus, again in all due respect, why if the spread is 33.5 and the anticipation is that Florida will "have the opportunity" to score say at least 45 (plausible in my book) against a team that more than likely will not make it to Florida's 30 yard line, and have multiple turnovers and countless punts.
Its easy to say, wow that's a lot a juice from a team that grossly underachieved last year. The only issue that I have is the new OC, and how they will execute in week 1. However, that is countered with the fact that 80% of the starting O and D for Idaho would not be 4th team at Florida.
I like the potential value in backing Florida due to the perception by backers like you that the past equals the present, from a perception standpoint. That should keep this line around 33 or hopefully less leading up to mid August.
This is not one of my top picks, but one that I am watching very closely.
Again, I agree, one should not automatically assume that Florida will destroy Idaho in this matchup. But in the end, I think there could be some value here...
