This team is clearly the best in the nation, no reason to risk injuries.
51 may be too many points, but it is definitely NOT "way too many points." This is a pretty sharp line. If FAU scores, I definitely think they cover, but Bama's defense is very hungry for a third consecutive shutout, so I kind of doubt they do.
It really doesn't matter if Bama brings in the 2nd team, 3rd team or whatever. Pretty much all of these guys are in the rotation and play some every game anyhow. They are all exceptionally talented (on both sides of the ball) and can and will continue to score just as they did against Arkansas. It didn't matter who Alabama had in the game, and they were playing some walk-ons, they were still shutting Arky's offense down, and were still steam rolling their defense. Alabama had 3 true freshman score TDs against Arkansas if that gives you any indication.
Honestly, Alabama is probably have an even more potent in the running game with Blake Sims (3rd string QB) under center running the read option. He ran 27 yards untouched for a TD against Arkansas. I have no doubt we'll see something similar in this game.
The point is that the only reason the scoring may slow down a bit has nothing to do with the capabilities or talent of the players in the game. If it slows down it'll be because Saban will refuse to throw a pass. That said, in the 4th quarter against Arkansas, Alabama still scored 14 points after running the ball 15 consecutive times.
Alabama will score around the half-century mark in this game. Which side covers the line will probably be determined by whether FAU scores or not. If the total comes out near the line, the over would be the strongest play.

Great call on FAU. Thanks for pointing that out.
And how about those Spartans (West) Can't thank you for that as I was all over it.
