Courtney Upshaw is a man among boys out there.  Don't even care if he can't speak English well in the post game interviews.  Who cares. Other than the 13 yard draw Jefferson picked up the first down on late in the game, he played nearly flawlessly.  If he is not a top 10 NFL pick several people in the organizations with those picks should be fired.  No question.

Yeh i could care less how bright a football player is unless he's a quarterback honestly. Jordan jefferson not being bright, along with les miles, well that i care about.

Too bad he won't be there to light up Denard.

This is true...Don't really care, I am fully aware and acknowledge that we will not gain more than 100 yards and will get demolished...

Nice bowl win though for Sparty though...nuts game and cashed me a fat ticket.

Hopefully the Jets trade up and draft him because he will be the next Ray Lewis

I think bamas losing quite a few defensive players to the nfl , so chances are youll have more than 100 yds.

They can't do any worse than LSU did offensively last night.

I honestly think one day about 15-20 years down the road we will be hearing stories about Courtney Upshaw blowing his NFL millions and being broke. Sorry to say but he doesn't seem very bright.

I would like to see my Cowboys draft Kirkpatrick but I doubt here will be there at 14. Maybe they can get Lester in the second round. Nice to see you cashed in on MSU Michfan15. Good luck this weekend with your Broncos moneyline.

bama loses upshaw, hightower, kirkpatrick, lester, and barron at least right?
not to mention richardson and maze (their two tackles will be back though and probly top 10 picks in 13)
think mich may have a chance, penn state and lsu game 1 gave them by far their toughest games this year.

Upshaw has an outside shot of being a top 10 pick, but top 20 is more likely.  He is definitely a beast though.  Michigan State should still be having nightmares about him from the Capital One Bowl form last season.

Alabama will be losing 7-8 starters off of this season's team depending on whether Robert Lester opts for the NFL.  All of them will be playing in the NFL.

The bad news for the rest of college football is that Alabama has an obsence amount of talent behind those who are leaving.  From a talent standpoint, the replacements are on par with those departing.  They will lack the all-important experince however.

As long as Saban is there, Alabama will have an extremely talented and ferocious defense, so they'll be very good on that side of the ball again next season, but they won't be on the level of this year's unit.

I meant to say that Alabama will lose 7-8 starters off of their defense.  They'll lose another 5 on offense.

Trent hasn't made anything official. He is leaning towards staying his senior year.

Holy garbage Michigan plays alabama next year on neutral lol. Michigan returns 8 on defense and 6 on offense. They've also have a sick recruiting class coming into next year. Alabama loses 5 on offense and 8 on defense. They've had the top 3 recruiting class for the last few years and will probably have the highest ranking recruiting class this year. Can anyone predict a line for this game? Def leaning towards Alabama despite the losses on both sides of the ball.

My guess would be around 10.  I'd love to see under 10.

10 does seem like a high number; albeit a fair one. Anyone one know how good the replacements are? Did some of the replacements play against Michigan State in the capital one bowl? I know Michigan State had trouble scoring against the Alabama backups and SEC teams this year also had trouble scoring against Alabama backups in the 2nd half when Saban called off the dogs.

It is simple....load the box and stop Denard. Every time he throws the ball it is a prayer. That is why MSU hasn't let Denard rush for over 100 yards yet. Alabama will be able to move the ball.

Including this season's recruiting class, Alabama's last 5 recruiting classes rank #1, #1, #5, #1 "& #1.  That should answer your question about how good the replacements will be.

Alabama is stacked 2-3 deep with NFL talent at pretty much every position on the field.  Much to the chagrin of Covers many posters, Alabama will once again be in contention for another national title next season.  Right now I don't see them getting past LSU, but they'll definitely be right there with them.  Should be another game of the century in Baton Rouge next season.

As for the Michigan game, I have no reason to believe this will be a competitive game.  I will bet this game huge at anything under a 14-point line, and will probably "max bet" it if it comes in under 10.

I think it actually could be a decent game.  If the spread is 10 I would consider siding with Michigan.  Despite losing a bunch of starters, I think Jimmydafreak is right in that there is a bunch of talent behind them.  Just look at the guy Norwood who came in when Maze went down.  Kid was a sophomore and tore up Honey Badger.

Great Season.  New Orleans and the Sugar Bowl were incredible, but now its basketball season and its time to focus our attention elsewhere.

I'm excited for more college football though. As a State fan I'm anxious to see Maxwell finally start. It is going to be a tough game with Boise coming in. State hasn't lost a home game in over two years. Next year's home schedule is brutal with: Boise State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Nebraska, and Iowa. Should be fun.

Battle of the quarterbacks that's never made a start. If Michigan State somehow get's points then I'm going to make a pretty big play on the spartans. Michigan State suffers a TON of losses on the offensive side of the ball but their defense returns 8 starters, 5 of which are all conference players. The Spartans will have by far the strongest defense in their conference ( I think they had the strongest last year also). Boise loses pretty much everyone on their defense, their QB, Kellen Moore and a couple of crucial players on offense.

State loses one offensive lineman I believe. Boise should get a heavy dose of Bell all game.
