Likely add some more tomorrow, but playing these now...
Royals -114 vs White Sox for 5* - Rodon is nothing special although he did pitch very well his last start vs Royals on Sunday. This was the game the Royals had the brutal collision with Moose & Gordon which put both on the DL and likely cost KC their focus for the game. Moose is now out of the year and Gordon for about a month. Ventura looked fairly sharp, but took a tough 3-2 loss which easily could have been a 2-1 win. I know KC is very banged up with 3 starters out, but they're also winning while the White Sox are finding ways to lose as their bullpen was crushed again tonight. I think KC rides the momentum for another win, call it KC 5-3 as they have a great bullpen and best in AL and maybe MLB other than Yankees 3 headed monster.
Angels +121 vs Astros for 5* - Sure Weaver's fastball can't break bubbles these days, but he finds ways to keep his team competitive and Keuchel has struggled on the road like last year and think the Halos keep swinging the bats well enough for another win as a home dog. Trout and Pujols should enjoy facing him and think he has another stinker... at any rate, I wouldn't make him road chalk.
Tigers +113 @ A's for 4* - Not much to like about the A's right now, despite the fact they have the better SP in Hahn vs Boyd, you still have to hit and Detroit is hitting and the A's aren't. This A's team just appears like a 90 to 95 loss club easily before the season is done so I will fade them vs the hot hitting Tigers when the A's are laying chalk. 2 teams heading in opposite directions and the team playing poorly is favored.
Strong Leans:
Pittsburgh +131 @ Texas (Darvish 1st start could be tough vs hot club)
Nationals -130 vs St Louis (Wainwright has great numbers vs Nats in the past so will see how the line moves.) Obviously take Nats if number goes down and lineup doesn't have many scratches, but Gio is coming back to earth quickly and has been pitching less effective, but has incredible numbers vs Cardinals.
Brewers -160 vs Reds - Cincy is 3-18 on road and has lost 11 straight, going to be a long season for the Reds who might challenge Braves for worst record in MLB. If you like catching falling knifes, then take the Reds because they're due, right? However, they are a bad team with horrible pitching and not much hitting.
Boston +115 @ Toronto - Probably should pull trigger, but line should go up if anything IMO. A little worried Toronto might be on the verge of getting hot, but Red Sox as underdogs is sweet!
Padres +190 @ Arizona - More a value wager as Zona is 7-19 @ home and Greinke's numbers are too weak to lay this price tag. A lot of great SP's getting crushed this year and he's one of them.
Phillies +220 @ Cubs - Another value wager as this line should be far lower IMO, but Phillies lineup doesn't scare anyone. Realize Phillies are starting to struggle as their lineup is weak, but Jerad Eickhoff has been solid with 6 quality starts so far (9 Total). Hendricks is still the Cubs #5 and shouldn't be laying this number to anyone, much rather a guy throwing well.
