My luck has for sure been faltering lately. I keep picking teams that hold late inning leads only to see the other team rally late. Had Angels and As yesterday, both teams blowing it in the 7th inning.
Today I like three bets for now, already placed.
Twins F5 +105 - Pelfrey has good stats pitching at home. I also like betting against pitchers after coming off a milestone. Fiers just pitched a no hitter and threw like 130 pitches to do it. Normally the start after is a good time to fade him.
Angels +140 - I can see people getting ready to rag on me for this, but hear me out. True, Angels offense has just been pathetic. They grounded into four double plays yesterday to continue their futility. Now they face a hot pitcher in Kluber. My whole thesis depends on a sizeable rain delay that will likely kick out both starting pitchers after a few innings (no more than 4 or 5 I'm guessing). Assuming Richards can continue his solid pitching as of late, Cleveland should only have a run or so when the rain hits. If the game resumes, Angels have the more solid bullpen to close this game out (Gott's efforts yesterday being the exception).
Philly +135 - To me this game is a toss up. Both pitchers are bleh, both offenses have their moments but are inconsistent. Padres do have the better bullpen. I thought about doing F5 but decided to just take the full game. Let the coin toss turn up as it will, I think Phillies have a better shot to win this than the +135 indicates.
