The 26-21 Colorado Rockies challenge the 26-21 San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park with more shuffling in the tight-packed National League West assured to go down.
Speaking of going down SF couldn't do it twice in a row pulling a rabbit out of their hats Tuesday unable to negotiate the same result despite eerily similar circumstances presenting themselves. Once again the Giants forced extra innings with the 24-23 Washington Nationals who instead of folding like a lawn chair in extras stepped up to make the clutch hit.
San Francisco's relief pitcher 1-1 with a 2.70 Jeremy Affeldt took the loss. The Giants got seven frames from 4-2 with a 2.89 ERA Madison Bumgarner, but scored just once for him on a Buster Posey single during the bottom of the eighth to get home Marco Scutaro.
Meanwhile in Colorado the Rockies took two of three over the 26-21 Arizona Diamondbacks who tried fighting back from a 4-0 deficit for the second straight day. On Tuesday Arizona was nicked 5-4 during extra innings, but Wednesday were held in check by 6-3 with a 3.40 ERA Jorge De La Rosa as well as the bullpen to fall 4-1.
Colorado struck four times on 3-5 with a 2.81 ERA Trevor Cahill including the last one due to a wild pitch during the bottom of the third. The Rockies plated in other runs off of Carlos Gonzalez's home run, Nolan Arenado's RBI-double and Gonzalez's RBI-triple.
2-0 Tyler Chatwood with a 2.55 ERA dances for Colorado next on the hill already disposing SF 10-2 at Coors Field May 18. Chatwood conceded a run during 5.2 frames despite shedding seven hits and four walks. In Chatwood's only away appearance the 19-26 Los Angeles Dodgers were befuddled for six innings of a 12-2 loss versus the Rockies ace who gave up none.
The Giants at AT&T a year ago sent in three runs during four frames to hand Chatwood a 7-1 defeat. As well at San Francisco Chatwood was solid keeping the Giants scoreless through five in a 3-0 victory. SF overall is 19-of-67 with five RBIs, three Pablo Sandoval's, versus Chatwood.
The Giants hand the keys over to 3-3 Tim Lincecum with a 4.70 ERA next. Lincecum has been dynamic in San Francisco twice shutting out the 28-18 Atlanta Braves and 21-25 San Diego Padres through seven and 6.2 innings of 5-1 and 2-0 wins as well as being mediocre getting plowed for six and five runs during six and seven frames by Colorado and the 23-24 Philadelphia Phillies. One of those starts Lincecum took the loss, but the Rockies walked away with a 9-6 defeat.
On May 18 at Colorado however Lincecum got more of the same seeing in six runs during five innings for a 10-2 loss. At AT&T Park last season Lincecum took a no-decision transpiring in a 5-4 Giants defeat, a 3-0 loss and 6-3 victory against the Rockies courtesy of seven, seven and 6.1 frames of four, three and zero-run baseball. Colorado is 88-of-318 with 43 RBIs, 10 Troy Tulowitzki's and eight Gonzalez's, versus Lincecum. Go with SF holding down the fort.

Don't usually post but I had to respond . Loved your post . Decided to go with the Rocks , I feel that Lincecum hasn't been reliable for 2 yrs it seems . Giants are now a clutch Team ?!?! Amazing but true for 2 yrs at least . I'm taking the Rocks just to hope their offense can get it done . 50/50 call in my mind . All the best , again nice post . If I was betting more cash on Proline , I'd lean more Giants probably . I love this site , but I hate bogus Picks . I swear people post the opposite side just to get others to , bugs me . Cheers ERevis420 . Everyone else too !!
