#2 Posted: 11/14/2012 7:21:45 PM So you're saying you award the cy young to a pitcher that couldn't get his team to the playoffs versus a team that did get his team to the playoffs?
And as far as embarrassing performances in the playoffs, he pitched a total of 28.1 innings w 7 ERs and 29 k's.....if that's embarrassing, I'd like to see a pitcher that pitched "great" according to your standards.

#3 Posted: 11/14/2012 7:31:16 PM Guy chocked in the playoffs (and the All Star game for that matter, the whole reason the Tigers didn't have home field advantage giving them a big disadvantage to start the World Series). As far as getting there, I would give more credit to Cabrerra then I would Verlander.

#4 Posted: 11/14/2012 7:35:19 PM I was a little surprised to see Price win it, but there was never a doubt in my mind that he was the more deserving. I also wanted Dickey to win it, and I'm really happy for the guy. That has to be one of the best stories in baseball in quite some time.

A little biased myself but he pitches one off game in the playoffs and he choked in the playoffs after 11 days off when he was used to pitching on four days rest. I guess Bling didn't see the masterpiece in the fifth game against Oakland.

#7 Posted: 11/15/2012 8:29:35 AM Dumbass , postseason doesn't count. He could go 0-7 with 14.76 era and still win. Get a clue. Besides, big deal he had 1 bad start |

#13 Posted: 11/16/2012 10:44:38 AM I am a huge Tigers fan and I have no problem with Verlander not winning the Cy Young this season but calling him a choker for that World Series game is ridiculious. Sandoval hits a 95 mph fastball at the very top of the strike zone if not out of the zone and then hits a ball well off the plate the opposite way out of the park. Tip your hat to the batter but in no way is that choking by the pitcher. The Giants also got a good break with the ball hitting the bag leading to two more runs on what would have been the third out of the inning and then it is a whole different game. Granted the Tigers hitters were pitiful and the Giants pitchers exploited their weaknesses to perfection. The outcome would likely not have changed, but to call him a choker is crazy. |

#14 Posted: 11/23/2012 1:41:11 PM Price deserved it, his numbers were better. JV had a great post season other then 1 game... get a clue. Tigers don't even sniff the playoffs without him
