My money is staying away from Valverde.

You know what they say, watch out with the wounded team.

Good luck.

That money was not wagered on Valverde hell they shipped him back on a red eye last night and put him on waivers.  You won't see him pitch for Detroit every again.  Not worried about a wounded team that can't hit.

Yeah roller coaster ride last night but the boys have got to be full of confidence after Valverde blowing lead and then winning in the 12th.

Getting some cheap runs here huge Tiger fan but hate picking up runs on replacement umpires.  Oh thats right these a the real deal umpires still don't like seeing runs scored after the third out that play wasn't even close.

Two down Two to go.  Nice feeling knowing if it goes the limit we have Verlander for two of the next five games with Scherzer and Fister mixed in.  In all my years watching the Yankees i have never seen them hit the way they are hitting of course no Jeter and for all intense of purpose no Cano or the other Kazillion millonaire whats his name K Rod. How did this Yankee team ever defeat the O's.
GO TIGERS GO.

Do all you Tiger fans understand what Leyland is saying he wouldn't let Valverde close last night but he deserves another chance he is human. I understand he is human but we are getting down to the short strokes man i know if i was manager i would have a hard time putting him out there right now in a crucial situation he has lost all confidence and he can cost you a game in a hurry.   I think if i was Leyland i would tell him quit with all your stupid antics and let your arm do the talking.  I used to like the mad man Robusky from the Cards him looking out to center field and then slamming the ball into his glove and coming to the mound steely eyed now he was a little intimidating.  Anyways enough of a rant.  Lets go get this series.   SORRY FOR ALL SPELLING ERRORS.
LETS GO TIGERS LETS GO TIGERS.

As has been stated by many, it can't get any better than this being up 2-0 and Verlander and Scherzer at home coming up. My broom is warming up in the bullpen. If I have another week this week like last week and I can make the logistics work I think I might be purchasing a World Series ticket.

Tigermike do you live near or in Detroit.  Been to lots of Tiger games majority of which were in good old Tiger Stadium man i used to like watching games in that ballpark although Comerica park is 10 times the park as far as appearance and so on but you couldn't beat the atmosphere at Tiger Stadium.  Was there when they won the East Division Championship in early September 1984 when they had about a 15 to 20 game lead man that place was roaring from the first pitch until the last out quite a memory for me.  Anyways let me know be interested to know how hard it would be to get a World Series ticket not if but when they make it.

I moved away from Detroit in March 2006 after having a 21 game package for years of not so great baseball. Of course they go to the Series that year. I loved Old Tiger Stadium as well, so many great memories. We would park behind the tire store on Michigan Ave for 5 dollars and the attendant would ask for a dollar for the skipper. I loved the Upper deck behind the plate at Tiger Stadium, Cheap seats and absolutely outstanding view. The last game at Tiger Stadium is another one of the many outstanding events I have been fortunate to attend and that was outstanding. Seeing Mark Fydrich scooping up dirt from the mound and Hearing Ernie's voice crack as he said " Good Bye Old Friend", God rest their souls, is still as vivid in my mind as the day it happened.
Tickets aren't really that hard to get. I still have several friends who are ticket holders and might be able to go that route, but if not there are always plenty on the secondary market.  The trick is finding a decent seat without paying an arm and a leg. Once a couple thousand tickets end up on the resale sites, the individual sellers start undercutting themselves so they don't  get stuck with the tickets. Seeing how I would have to fly in I wouldn't be able to wait til the absolute last second as I wouldn't want to chance being stuck paying an exorbitant amount or getting shut out, but I had great success scoring Wings playoff tickets for semi reasonable prices waiting until 5pm on weekday games.

I was so sad to read of Mark the Byrd Fydrich's passing last year or was it the year before anyways it was so sad and by a freak accident to boot.  And he stood there like the house on the side of the road Ernie beautiful voice and loved the way he called the games.   As i said before i started following the Tigers in 1968 World Series and have followed them through some pretty lean years.  When i started following them i was playing jr hockey in Sarnia Ontario and lived there for 22 years so it was only a short one hour ride to the stadium.  I now live 4 hrs from Comerica park, went to a couple of games this year but when the Tigers make the world series i am going to be searching out some tickets, my nephew has a business in Detroit and he told me anytime i wanted tickets to call him.  Not sure if he meant World Series tickets or not but i will defintely be giving him a call.  If i find out early enough maybe i could help you out.  Looking forward to Verlander hurling tomorrow should be a great game.  GO TIGERS GO

Tigermike i meant to ask your thoughts were on Verlander at -1.5 runs tomorrow @ +120 the way the Yanks have been hitting and with Verlander throwing the way he is throwing with a something along the lines of .055 ERA in the playoffs and i figure the Tigers for at least 4 or 5 runs.  I know you are not an individual game player but i just wondered what your thoughts were,

I am leaning towards playing  Verlander -1 run. I don't like playing -1.5 because I hate having the right side and losing by the half run, and with the Tigers bats being inconsistent a 1 run win is  entirely possible. I don't think -1.5 is a horrible play considering the price. The -1 run is -128 right now and I rather have the opportunity at the push and give up some potential winnings.

I hear ya Tigermike sometimes i know i would do a lot better by being a little more conservative but tonight i am going with my man Justin "NO HITTER" Verlander.  I really think he will throw another gem tonight maybe not a no hitter but the Tigers win tonight by 2.  So in a way i will be conservative and use the $100. from his last win.  So -1.5 at +120 $100 to win $120.  All the Tiger faithful will be roudy at old Comerica tonight wish i could be there sitting in the upper deck box seats between home plate and third.  GO TIGERS GO.

What is with all the New York Yankee love in the forum today.  If the Yanks hope to win this game they better jump on Verlander real quick like the 1st or 2nd inning after that he will settle down and we all know what he can do when he starts taking control nobody moves the ball around the plate like he does with a blazing 98 m.p.h. fastball and a perfectly matched 82 m.p.h. change up to keep hitters thinking .   The Yankees only runs came off Valverde who i hope sits this one out no matter what  the score in the late innings.  Anyways GO TIGERS GO

For all the Yankee love here and elsewhere there hasn't been much line movement. Either a bunch of people just blowing smoke or still way too many smart people.

I am a fan of two other sports teams i'm a huge fan of the Detroit Lions and my favourite hockey team the Boston Bruins all because of Bobby Orr who grew up about 110 miles from my hometown and i still think is the best if not one of the best players of all time.  But nothing compares to the way i feel about my Detroit Tigers and just love baseball in general.  Like i said before anybody that calls baseball boring doesn't understand the game.  We need more Tiger fans in here to keep this going.  GO TIGERS GO
