#1 Posted: 9/30/2012 4:47:49 PM NBC Sports needs to tell Bettman that IF they don't get this garbage straightened out before the regular season, they will CANCEL their NHL contract which is worth $200 million per year to the league because IF they are NOT "providing content" (the games) THEN the NHL is in violation.

#4 Posted: 10/1/2012 2:33:48 PM i heard if they miss a certain amount of games this season that they get a extra year of carrying nhl games at no extra cost... so they probably hope the strike goes at least a few weeks |

#5 Posted: 10/1/2012 2:45:31 PM i would think that most of that money comes from national exposure.and if i remember correctly nbc dosent air games until after the nfl regular season ends.which would buy that little prick sometime. |

see how that New York Lawyer SON of a girl would like THAT!!! Actually Rink, the lockout benefits gary and his band of gangsters immensely. The TV contract monies goes to the league whether they play or not and will help the owners pay for all their current bills. This includes $200 mil NBC, $100 mil CBC, $50 mil Sportsnet, $50 mil TSN, etc. The TV networks will get the missed year added onto the end of the contract. The only "regret" gary will have this year is the stupid amount of money they would have made from the "New Years Classic" (from the 100.000 mentally challenged Torontonians of course) |

#7 Posted: 10/10/2012 1:45:21 PM ya I know, Dangerbay. read that the TV contracts STILL get PAID in some other articles. you gotta be one stupid behind of a TV executive to sign something like that.
SHOULD have been NO delivery of content (the games) = NO PAY. |

#9 Posted: 10/16/2012 9:39:00 AM Been watching a lot of Thats Hockey Tonight pffft more like thats paperwork tonight. Sounds like the hopes od a season are fading every week. Maybe Jan 1 but somehow 8 teams are keeping the rest of the league from playing. Maybe they need to get rid of those 8 teams ?
