Gillis should be in no hurry to trade bobby lou.  At some point in the season a team will be desperate for a goalie and will take a chance on him.  The media is constantly mentioning Florida and Toronto, but there's a problem with both of them.  Luongo would prefer Florida because no one would ever recognize him (maybe his wife) and there would be no pressure on him.  But they can't afford him.  The loafs can afford his contract, but there would be Vancouver pressure on him X 10.  The same goes for the Hawks.  As soon as he has a bad game, the media would tear him a new one.  Maybe Columbust should sign him as it might help them create an identity.

I could see the Hawks for sure, but Stan Bowman has already demostrated they think they don't need a goaltender.  Hell look what they have done in the off-season. D Sheldon Brookbank, yeah he made offers to Parise and Suter, but rumor was that it wasn't even close to what the Wild offered.

Crawford (48th rank GAA) and Emery (52nd rank GAA), two above average but not great goaltenders.  Unless the Hawks can score at least 3 goals every game they will do the same playoff dance and out after a round or two.

The stumbling block with the Bobby Lou trade is the asking price which is rumered to be very high, for Toronto the asking price is said to be Jake Gardiner, Florida has to find a way to move Theodore if they trade for Lou, if the Hawks were to be involved the price would have to be high for those guy. Lou's contract isn't as big of a deal as one would think, he'll likely retire in 3 or 4 years.

Theodore doesn't want to go to Vancouver..his golden flushing locks will suffer from lack of vitamin d, not to mention his complexion!

Jose Theodore, what a character..!

Lou contract is just ridiculous and very hard to move especially before a new CBA has been finalized! Too much uncertainty! Goalies just aren't that valuable especially a guy that is clearly flappable when it matters most. The Jaro Halak trade should have taught us value from a netminder in trade. And Halak had RFA status.

Gillis is doing is best Scott Howson impression! Asking for more than a bag of pucks!

Theodore has no say in anything, anyways if we do have to take his contract to make the deal it's only 1 yr at 1.5 mil, not a bad idea to have him around to start 25 games or so. I'm not sold on the idea of Eddie Lack as backup.

If Luongo would agree to Columbus, a Nash for Luongo deal would work. The Sedins would finally have an all-star winger, Burrows could move to the Kesler line and Columbus would have a star goalie and could build from there.

Nah he'll never agree to that. There aren't enough greasy italians in Ohio so he wouldn't fit in.

He'll go to Florida it's just a matter of time I think. Florida needs the publicity and a star. Not sure what we'll get back though. I wouldn't want Theodore to be honest I dunno. Draft picks and prospects would be nice.

Crawford and Emery are "below average" goalies, not "above average"
Their respective numbers clearly show this.  At least Crawford can improve.

He was looking at cap space for the Eastern Conference teams.  But now that he's here.

Nash for Lou is wishfull thinking and then some, the BlueJackets have already turned far better offers than a goalie near the end of the road.

If that yahoo article at the deadline was correct, Scott Howson refused Kreider, McDonough and Dubinsky for Nash!!

LoL

You fleeced a desperate Lombardi, Howson! Quit while it ahead and make a decent trade! Asking for Jeff skinner and Logan couture is too much!! You can't win the trade! Nash wants out and Howson is pissing off NHL players and management by being so unreasonable!!

It is a longshot, but I think it makes sense. Maybe the Canucks add a player/pick, etc. Luongo would have to agree to Columbus and that would be the biggest factor. Look at the Blue Jackets goalies - Bobrovsky (remember his last game 10-3 in the playoffs vs. Pens - let in 5 on 18 shots), Steve Mason - I wouldn't trust this guy to be #1, maybe a good backup, Curtis Sanford? Luongo is not at the end of the road; he's 33. Still atleast 5 years in him. Columbus would have a star goalie. For the Canucks, Nash with the Sedins could potentially be the best line we've seen in years.

Looks like Vancouver isn't on Nash's list. Idiot. Could have scored 75 goals playing with the Sedins and won a Stanley Cup.

Actually darn Rick Nash, we don't need him or his 7.5 mil cap hit, Burrows is fine on the Twins line, out of the countless wingers that have played on that line Alex was the only one that has some chemistry with the Twins, the only thing that we need to do is upgrade the bottom half of the roster, a shutdown 3rd line center would be huge.

On the Lou thing i don't think he gets moved untill the new cba gets done, under the current rules that contract counts against the cap if he plays it out or not, that's a big risk for a high revenue team.

I doubt the Rangers would be stupid enough to trade Chris Kreider. he probably has as much "upside" as Nash himself.
