i was expecting a different d man,but like it, they addressed a concern, overs looking strong next year! i think your boys did as well as they could under the circumstances,ALOT in return, good luck! |

#27 Posted: 6/22/2012 9:48:56 PM Paul Holmgren... "I would like to thank the city fo Pittsburgh for thier warm welcome."
He should have Thanked them for the standing ovation.

In 2014 Philly fans WILL remember that... and be much worse... |

#31 Posted: 6/22/2012 10:24:09 PM If the Leafs really do get Luongo... How much of a difference would that really make...??? 5-10 wins...??? Still would not make the playoffs since they would probably wins most of those in games that would have gone to OT... so 5-10 points...??? |

Shame they're not still in Hartford... Maybe ESPN would start liking hockey again... and maybe even show a highlight once in a while... Naaaahhhh... They hate hockey... Just Linda Cone likes hockey there. |

me too
overall I like the Pennies draft so far. hate losing Jordan Staal BUT got some good people back. our problems weren't at center anyhow. need defensive D and some "big body with skills" forwards. |

Love the move for the Isles. Puzzled that the Ducks would make the move.

#37 Posted: 6/23/2012 2:53:31 PM TSN.ca says the Penguins traded D man Zbynek Michalek back to the Coyotes for a couple of "donuts". like a TSN poster said, "unless the home run final trade is made for the Pens, i dont understand how they could trade a shot blocking, defensive machine like Michalek"
AND rumors that his D partner Paul Martin may also be moved
I sure hope Ray Shero has some D men in his sights OR it's gonna be "Boom, Boom, Out Go the Lights" with the Penguins blue line |

#38 Posted: 6/23/2012 3:00:55 PM I guess moving Michalek probably means Shero and Danny Bylsma think that "big body" D man Simon Despres will be ready to step up next season and possably Alex Picard too. |

#39 Posted: 8/21/2012 1:35:49 PM EXCELLENT signing by the Flyers....
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=403485 >>> The Philadelphia Flyers signed left-winger Scott Hartnell to a six-year contract extension worth US$28.5 million on Monday.
Scotty is THE "Heart and Soul" of the Flyers and a true team leader. I don't think $4.75 million per year average is an "overpay" at all. wish we had someone like him on my Penguins |

#42 Posted: 8/24/2012 3:41:10 PM The Nashville Predators nailed down another one of their core players Monday, signing Mike Fisher to a two-year contract extension worth $4.2 million per season.
TSN.ca ref >>> http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=403505
I would think this is somewhat of an "overpay" only because he's "Mr Carrie Underwood" and there is NO way he would ever leave Nashville
