#4 Posted: 5/6/2012 7:05:31 PM I looked at making a huge wager on the Kings at the beg of the year because there was talk that they had amassed a playoff team. But after watching them struggle offensively, i decided to leave them alone. Big mistake |

#10 Posted: 5/6/2012 9:23:48 PM watching the Devils, I think they could beat the Kings. they are making the Flyers look BAD.
AND you could have a re-run of 1994 IF it's Ranges-Devils with Lundqvist doing a Patrick Roy and stealing the series.
and they STILL have to get by (probably) the Coyotes and those two split the season series 3-3 with the "Wile E's" winning the last two of the season when "Der Schmied" had a 1-0 shutout Feb 16th and the Kings blowing a 3-0 lead and losing 4-5 in a shootout Feb 21st.
they will probably be the odds on fav in "the final four" BUT they wouldn't be giving them anything for free. they are NOT going to get away with playing like they did in that close out game today against St Louis against any of the three teams mentioned. IF I was Darryl Sutter, I would work their behind of in the next practice. looked like they "mailed it in" today BUT Quick saved their butt once AGAIN. |

#11 Posted: 5/6/2012 9:24:12 PM Well the Toronto Maple Leafs actually stopped the Kings in 1993 in game 6, but Gary Bettman and Kerry Fraser did not allow it to happen in their world of the NHL. They had to have Hollywood in the Finals. Not a soul in America would have watched Toronto versus Montreal.

'SCUSE ME!!! was 1993 that the "Roy Theft" happened. 1994 was the Rangers last Cup win. |

#13 Posted: 5/6/2012 9:28:46 PM People keep saying the Yotes split the season series. Who cares, LA's offense wasn't on steroids then. It is now. Yotes win 2 at most.

#14 Posted: 5/6/2012 9:35:21 PM canucks tarred n feathered in five
blues swept
maybe bettman's squad (if they beat the preds) will win a game or two.
can't see any teams in the east beating this team in a seven game series.
been wrong before, but the kings haven't just won, they have dominated so far.

#15 Posted: 5/6/2012 9:37:18 PM lrr, very true had the kings this afternoon, and consider myself lucky to cash, but the blues were playing desperate hockey. the first 3 games la dominated, and were still able to pull out the clncher not playing up to par, which i consider the making of a solid team, polarbear i wouldnt miss a minute of a toronto/montreal series, but then again you could take any 2 teams and put them against eachother and i would watch it |

#18 Posted: 5/6/2012 10:36:30 PM Kings could win it all, but keep thinking Yotes and Smith are the 99 Sabres with Hasek. Which would be a Caps/Yotes final. |

#22 Posted: 5/7/2012 8:08:18 AM ^^Lets see, they put a shitload of goals past the best defense in the NHL (STL, whose defense was 22 goals clear of the next best defense that wasn't the Kings defense: STL gave up 2.01/game this past reg. season, LA averaged 3.75/game in their series just ended), and they beat a SCF finalist from last season (VAN) who just happened to finish with the best record in the NHL this season.
Yeah, you're right. They've beaten no-one. Crushing the best defense, and the best record, in the NHL means little. So when they maul Phoenix, will your tune change? But how could your tune change if they do maul Phoenix? If they're not impressing you now, why would their beating up a run-of-the-mill team (that can't compare to STL or VAN - they were 1 reg. season result reversed vs LA from finishing 8th in the West) suddenly going to change your mind? By your logic, we observers can only get "carried away" w/LA the moment they host the Cup (ie, by waiting on their performavces in the SCFs themselves).
Sorry, this team always had the defense (2nd best in the NHL), it was their scoring that was the cloud above them. They now have the scoring, hence they're a runaway train. That doesn't mean they can't derail, but I fail to see the Yotes as the partisans capable of blowing up their tracks. |

#23 Posted: 5/7/2012 11:21:53 AM I really do not want to see the Devils win another cup, same way as I don't want to see San Antonio win another NBA crown. New blood or nothing. Kings are looking good. Been impressed with Kopitar and Doughty has come back from the dead. |
