The owners and the NBA wanted to show that the PLAYERS having too much control/power is "not good" for the league. The new CBA gave players 45% salary bump, too much control, crippling teams, and ruining the game's competitive balance. This playoffs was their "POINT" that they had to make. And I think this will continue for few more years.
If the NBA did not care about their "POINT", they would've had few more game 7's and lots of close games in this playoffs. There were lots of chances throughout the playoffs. Instead they show both super teams are unstoppable. Then the Finals come and they stab the Cavs in the back, and present the Dubs are even more "superior". Their point is more valuable than the few extra games they couldve gotten.
This is the start of the end for the "super" teams. The NBA wants the public keep talking about how bad the NBA has gotten since the new CBA. They will keep presenting this "really bad" product for multiple years until the OWNERS and the NBA take back the control, the money.
I'm not on neither side, this is just my conclusion after thinking about this whole playoffs why the NBA would allow such a bad product.

NBA needs more competitive and less teams! This won't happen and with Curry/Durant/Thompson/Greene all late 20's, GWS will dominate for the next few years. Maybe next year somebody will pay 1,333,333 for tickets to a game..... Nothing But Alignment will help........

Wrong...the owners are making more money now than ever. The league has never been more profitable.
If the playoffs sucked, that's just one opinion...the other opinion is they were awesome. We are witnessing greatness of TEAM BASKETBALL (warriors). James is a phenom but cannot win championships 1 vs 5
The league is more profitable, but the players are taking more than ever percentage wise. Not all about money, also about control. Go read articles on realgm and forbes websites.
I havent met 1 person that said this playoffs were good.
I'm not denying the fact that we're witnessing one of the best teams ever, I'm pointing out how the playoffs transpired and why.

NHL is competitive and there are 30 teams (31 from next season).
The reason NBA sucks is their salary cap, which is almost inexistent in its object.
They need to get rid of all those exceptions and do not allow any team to go beyond the hard cap

Yeah, NBA was SO much better back in the day, when everybody had a chance..........
When Bill Russell won ELEVEN TITLES, and the Celtics owned the 60s..................
........and watching the Celtics and Lakers playing for the title so often, it's like watching the F'In Red Sox play the Yankees every Sunday Night Game on ESPN
..........or when the Lakers went 9 times in 15 years? Yeah, that's balanced. Somehow, nobody cried when the Lakers got a guy named Lew Alcindor (look it up, kids)
............or when the Bulls won SIX FRIGGIN' TIMES IN A ROW (when The Greatest Athlete of All Time decided to play minor league baseball and "hit" .202) when MJ was at the helm
................yeah, dems be good times, right?
Can't we all get on the HateSpurs bandwagon? I mean, they've won THREE TITLES, are the not worthy of our scorn? Oh, that's right, I forgot. They'll FALL APART now that The Big Fundamental is gone.........................right
Yeah, it's really unfair that the Warriors won twice in three years. Let's change the entire NBA because of that. And go back to "the good old days"............................FU

there was a lot of game 6's and 7's back when you referring to.
but you're missing the whole point, you should read before start typing 20 sentences.
the point is THIS playoffs couldve been more "entertaining" with the same RESULT, but the nba DECIDED NOT TO, because of $ and power struggle with the players.

funny how internet trolls always has to go against you no matter what the subject is..
lol every sports writer saying this years playoffs were dull, boring and predictable, and yet still we got haters in here trying to denounce the obvious.
ok finals might have made money, but the playoffs as a whole did not. games = money.
