This would have screwed the GS -7 bet .... And they had 2 attempts to score a 3 pointer in the last 10 seconds of the game.
Is this what is all about? One basket here or there determines how the bet will end?
What difference does it make than Roulette? The ball can fall on either Black or Red ....
I'm amazed how gambling is made .... you were right again (both on the OVER and on GS -7) but I wouldn't treat it like a "lock" ... it was pure LUCK ... had the player got the 3 pointer in then the bet would have been screwed!

I think John and I were expecting a much more comfortable win by GS. They are in big trouble heading back to OKC unless the amount of greed is even greater than I can imagine. GS was the right side, bottom line. Hope you listened and had them. That's 9/10 home teams to cover now in the conference championship series. Thinking of taking Toronto now with the points and money line. The fix is in tomorrow, watch and see. I had to see those two last Canadian games to become a believer.

I'd rather avoid gambling after so many winnings and back-losses ... life is too short, have a family, a baby to take care of, got enough money to live with but absolutely not planning in throwing it away, what's for sure, gambling sucks, one way or another.
I just remember Dr John's tip to take GS - 7 (as well as the OVER as well as the UNDER in the Cavs-Tor game), all 3 tips were correct ... but I won't regard the GS-7 (the 8 dime play unlike the other 2 that were his 2 dime play) as a skilled bet ... it was pure luck or even if it's all a show, if one player (especially the bench one's) is bribed that's enough to screw the whole thing.
I just wanted to see it, had no bet on it, and glad I didn't ... the oddsmakers are very smart in what they do (letting the bettor believe it would get stuck on 210-218 and then it's all changed in the 4th quarter)...
Even if you can "read the script" - sooner or later - most gamblers perish and lose it in the end ... what goes around comes around.

Everyone in here knows you're still butt hurt from your loss last night, but seriously get the f*ck over it already!
At first I had a bit of sympathy for you because it's a mistake everyone has made...taken a bigger shot or forced a play and it doesn't work out. But now you're just crying like a little baby. FYI, your bet last night was dumb as sh*t...you deserved to lose.
Here's a thought...if you don't like gambling anymore then quit hanging around a gambling forum and talking about gambling.

Well, here's my 2 cents for you then - gamblers are impatient people, rude and angry, and I don't need sympathy from people who can't truly enjoy life.

To those ignorant of it, skill appears merely as luck.
The sharps were all on GSW tonight. That's because they understand human nature. OKC after going all out in the previous 4 games to take a commanding 3-1, will relax. Just a bit. Not even intentionally, but it is human nature to feel comfortable in OKC's position.
They know they have 2 more games ahead of them if they lose. They know that everyone expects them to lose the next game to GSW on their home floor. They probably expect it themsleves a bit. Maybe some part of some of them wants to win Game 6 on their on floor. Lots of different ways that this position makes OKC's players relax a bit and lose their edge, even if just a little.
Conversely, you have GSW who have their backs against the wall. A proud team, both due to their home court and their 73-10 all time best record. They are the defending champs, and they will give everything they have. Their heart and soul. They will be far more locked in, play with far more passion, etc. You can call bullshit on this but players who have been in this position will tell you it's true. It's just human nature.
I didn't read Dr. John's write ups, so I don't know if that's what he was saying as well (because I find it hard to take anyone who addresses themselves in 3rd person seriously) but it's honestly something most cappers should understand.

Sports betting is designed for you to believe you got the skills and then once you gamble too much - the "skills" fly out the window - that's the nature of this business.
Ask anyone here ... ask top players who millions of $$$ in poker and lost it all in the end (and now are bankrupt).

What I believe happened is that OKC didn't try to make the shot, was rigged for GS to cover. Although it appeared as a 50/50 coin flip game which many bets will come down to the last shot. Thats how it works

If anything it shows you how good the odds makers really are
Cant believe some people actually believe this. Wake up bro! They script many of these games t land right around the number of the spread. You know very well the players are aware of the spread.
It's funny they probably out their calculating O/U's during the game. They are definitely pros at it, that's probably why they make em go to college before they can get into the NBA (With the exception of superstars such as Lebron James)

That's the human nature part of it. People lose those massive bank rolls because of lack of discipline. They win a few, they win a lot, and they gain confidence and start betting massive % of their bankrolls that are unsustainable. Or they lose, try to chase, and end up doing the same thing.
There is a reason why poker is not considered gambling in some places; (like texas) there is skill involved. "Best" plays to make based on available information. Of course there is luck, but the skilled will win over time. Just "ask the top players who [won] millions of $$$ in poker and kept it all in the end (and are now [millionaires])," but I digress.
By the same token, there are bettors, who bet infrequently and in situations where they know there is value. Who bet small, sustainable %'s of their bank roll (1%-3%) and thus consistently win over time. It's about understand public perception, how that relates to line maker's setting their lines, and personal knowledge and understanding about the factors relevant to the game at hand.
I'm sure none of this will reach you but it's whatever.

Are you in profits from gambling? If you say yes I believe you are 100% a bookmaker, hands down.

OKC + 7.5 was the right play but they made too many mistakes.
The refs were on GS from the very beginning when all of the first 7 fouls went against OKC, but the NBA agenda to extend the series has to be factored into capping.
GS played great, shot 91% at the line, had help from the refs, OKC played lousy, and still the thunder had 2 shots to win on the spread.

Dr. John did mention that U.S.-based syndicate hit the Warriors -7 earlier today. The close out game is the hardest game to win (and by extension, cover). Anyone will tell you this. The most skilled of cappers factor this into their regression equations. Some even add ~1 pt as a result of the "zig-zag" factor. This, along with the close out game aspect, easily indicated value on GS -- it was virtually the same line as in game 1, though in game 1 these dual pronged factors were absent.
re: the "luck" aspect. sure there is "luck". however, the person mentioning skill winning out over time (in poker) is on point. you cannot rely on luck as your fallback or excuse.

The "right play" was the winning play, and this winning play was based on random outcome ... could be rigged as mgmprofits claims, I am not disputing that ... these guys can be pro and do their utmost to make you feel like OKC wanted to minimize the score as an act of gesture towards the OKC+7.5 to believe it could hit ... but all those "near miss" or "near hit" are worthless... in the end of the day people lose from it, one way or another.
There is no other way to put it but that's what gambling is all about ... it's about making you believe you can be a millionaire if you only follow a system - some guys have done it before ... some did make millions of $$$ from it - and many of them just lost it all.
Example? Graham Calvert .... a dog trainer in the UK ... used to bet on dog races only, made tons of money - you don't wanna know where he is now - but google his name...
You can learn from the idiots here or you can take the right choice ... I was skeptic about gambling from the beginning, I am not skeptic anymore, I just know it's bad .... if anyone tells you otherwise here - it's because he's a bookmaker himself and many bookies participate in this forum, they need action or they don't make money (from you, the loser).
