The win? The situational spot the Kings were in tonight vs. the Knicks.
Knicks have won 3 of 4 and covered 4 of 4, were competitive against Charlotte as 10 pt dogs and now were 4.5 pt dogs to the Kings tonight. The 4 covers makes the spread lighter for the Kings backers obviously. Good.
Believe me when I tell you the Knicks would have lost this game. I had this as a 10-12 pt victory for the Kings.
Kings were losers of 6 in a row (good to bet them on a losing streak against an inferior teams who will now play a team far worse than them) with 4 of those 6 being very tough spots vs. Dallas, Clippers, Blazers and Warriors. Now they get handed what was a few games ago, not only one of the worst teams in the league, but one that was going down as one of the worst in history.
But there was a little extra here too...
The Law of National Embarrassment...
The world watched as Klay lit them up for an unconscionable 37 in the third quarter last game. This was a national story getting looped on ESPN 1000 times over.
It was a mirror image of the spot the Knicks were in last year towards the end of the season.
If anyone remembers, last year I posted the Knicks to win their next game after they gave up 51 pts in a quarter to the lousy Lakers (again in the third quarter) by utilizing the Law of National Embarrassment. It was the worst quarter in Knicks history.
Who did they play and beat the next game by 8 as 2 pt favorites to save some face after the national embarrassment? The Kings going away.
And here come the Kings, after giving up a record setting third quarter to Klay (which in my opinion is worse than giving up 51 in a quarter) going away to play Knicks to save a little face the game after.
Coincidence? Of course. But I liked it beyond the coincidences.
The Kings, as untrustworthy as they are and as poorly coached as they are, would have come to play tonight and 4.5 wouldn't have been much of an issue. And Cousins would have ate them for lunch as the Knicks have absolutely zero rim protection.
Now the game is rescheduled for early March which makes the situational spot .
The loss? All my bets are cancelled...(due to a snowstorm where, as I type, there are but mere flurries outside). How many times are games cancelled in the NBA??? In the NBA, when you win, you lose.
