I've put a lot of thought into this and countless hours listening to their music.

Sticky Fingers

Top to bottom, this one is my favorite.  Their are SO many and they are all very good but this one has it all.

Right now it's "Let it Bleed" for me too, with "Sticky Fingers" being a close second.  Tastes change over the years, though.  When I was in middle school I thought "Some Girls" was the best thing going and then in college I thought "Their Satanic Majesties Request" was the greatest album ever made.  Good thread.

I recognize that these albums aren't as good as the ones I listed but these 3 -

decembers children
out of our heads
the rolling stones, now

will always hold a special spot for me.  My dad played these on vinyl every sunday morning when I was growing up

Sorry to disagree with all of you but" Exile On Main Street " from 1972 is an amazing Double LP, and is my number one.
Not too many of the songs are popular and over killed by the radio on Exile . ( Tumbling Dice & Happy ). Give it another listen and you will agree.Rip This Joint, Rocks Off . Turd On The Run , Let It Loose etc. are all great songs.
If you think about it, that period from 1968 to 1973 was a GREAT period for the Stones. They were in a tough spot in late 1967  after their answer of Sgt Peppers ( Satanic Majesties Request ) was a complete failure ,and 3 of the 5 members were saddled with heavy Drug Busts. They recovered with Begger's Banquet with Dave Mason & Clapton helping out ,and then Mick Taylor came in and they whipped out all those great releases you guys mentioned.
I sure hope Mick Taylor sits in w /them at some point when they do their last tour. Because Ronnie Wood can not hold Mick Taylor's Jock.

Mitch-

No doubt "Exile on Main Street" is greatness.  If you haven't already, check out the documentary "Stones in Exile".  It's about the making of the album and what was going on with the band at the time.  Good garbage.  Here's the trailer:

It's only rock-n-roll....MIck Taylor at his finest. His riff at the end of Time is as good as any guitar playing gets....BY ANYONE. An absolute masterpiece.

Good to see all the Stones love in here. I agree w/ so what , Time Waits For No One is a wonderful swan song to the end of his run.

If any of you get a chance seek out the Bootleg " The Trident Mixes" It is from that golden period and has such great unreleased songs like Blood Red Wine , Leather Jacket, Still A Fool .  I have it on Vinyl ,but a friend of mine recently found it at a record store in New York City.I can not begin to tell you how great this album is.

I downloaded and watched the full documentary.  Pretty decent show.  Incredible that they had a tax rate of 93% in England at the time.  They had a lot of debt but even if they made $1,000,000 each they would only have seen 70k of it.  The rest was tax.  No wonder they left.

It's tough to choose between Sticky Fingers and Let it Bleed. I personally like all their stuff as my dad is a massive Stones fan and I grew up listening to their music. In my honest opinion, and I may take garbage for this, but they're the greatest rock n roll band of all time. Yes, better than The Beatles.

Everybody has an opinion...........mine isn't the same as yours.

Have never been a big Stones fan. I like some of their stuff & definitely respect them, but it's never been music I've loved...............don't know why.
