Lol thats kind of what I was thinking. I really wanted to do 4 nights and I just might...I haven't booked anything yet. I can easily kill an entire day+ playing poker and spend another day just watching baseball thats why I was thinking 5 nights, plus I can just hit a pool one day and kick it. I value your advice stats1, but I have decided that I am not gonna stay any less than 4 nights. It's either 4 or 5...so I am assuming you think I should go the 4 night route?
I would definitely save a few bucks but just thought I would give myself enough time to get a good solid feel for Vegas, oh and I planned on spending a whole day downtown. I can either stay 4 nights at Bills for only 200 bucks (Monday-Thursday) or spend 5 nights at Bills for 300 bucks (Sunday-Thursday OR (Monday-Friday). Like I said, I will be there for either 4 or 5 nights
. Can you give me some reasons as to why you think "5 nights for a 1st timer is WAYYYYYY 2 long"? I am really curious as to why that might be. Like I said I will probably spend a day or more playing poker, spend a day in the sports book just watching some games in the afternoon, possibly spend half a day at the pool, spend a day downtown, spend lots of time simply walking around and exploring....
So to me 4-5 nights seems about right, but then again, its my first time and I have no real idea lol. I am not going there to party every night and just go on some 30 hour blackjack binge lol...I want to make sure I have an adequate amount of time to do all the things I want to do and not feel rushed per say. Keep all the advice and ideas coming, GL fellas |

#28 Posted: 3/21/2012 4:01:22 PM ad-- C'mon people the first time in Vegas? Maybe ad will like spending a day in the poker room and do another. What if he likes it low-down downtown and he wants to see a $5 hooker?I really think you should pull an all-nighter but thats not something you plan it just happens. In all of LasVegas you are never safer then walking on LasVegasBlvd so wander up and down after midnight and hit them all. |

#29 Posted: 3/21/2012 4:13:12 PM Lol thanks 666LES, so you don't think 5 nights is too much for a first timer? You are right, I can definitely find time to kill my friend...I mean when I lived in Texas we would drive up to Oklahoma and play poker for 3 straight days so I think I can find stuff to do in Vegas for 5 days! |

#31 Posted: 3/23/2012 2:51:19 PM Excaliber is perfect man, thats a great low cost hotel that will still get you the full Vegas experience. Great hotel/casinos right next door to ya and as someone mentioned before a nearby tram (forget where). I've been going to MGM (right across the street) for March Madness for 5-6 years and while my buddies play the the higher limit tables I always walk over to Excaliber for lower limit tables. Great place, fantastic location IMO. Perfect for the low budget visitor. |

#33 Posted: 3/23/2012 3:54:59 PM Thanks fellas. Well I convinced my brother to go...We have settled on 4 nights, Monday, May 7 thru Thursay, May 10. We haven't booked anything yet but should be doing so next week. We will be staying at Bills Gamblin Hall for $44.95 a night it was $50 bucks a night for only 1 guest, $45 for 2. Soooo I figured $180 bucks for 4 nights divided by me and my brother = $90 a person for 4 nights, couldn't pass on that.
I have determined that I will be focusing primarily on poker and sports betting but will dabble in some of the games that I previously mentioned.
So now I guess the question is what are the softest poker rooms in Vegas? I read that its a good idea to stay away from poker downtown because most of the players are locals and pros... |

#34 Posted: 3/23/2012 3:58:09 PM I have stayed at Excalibur many times. I like the location, especially for what ou want to do. Luxor has a decent little poker oom that is fairly soft, and MGM always has good 1-2 and small tourneys, middle of the strip have sweet poker room (ceasers, Venetian, mirage) but more expensive tourneys and tuffer cash tables. As for going solo, it's not that much fun. I thought it old be greAt the ONLY time I did it but it wasn't. I've been with my sisters, friends, wife and kids, solo, stags, weddings, many many times over the last 15 years. Always fun. Just booked for may 26 th wsop again this year. Have a blast and if at all possible stretch that budget. You only live once. Live it up. Vegas rocks |

I am trying to stretch my budget...I have about 6 weeks before we leave. I am a waiter and will be trying to pick up a few extra shifts here and there. |

#42 Posted: 3/23/2012 5:42:02 PM imperial palace is normally always a cheap hotel to stay at. Plus it's practically in the middle of the strip. I'd look into that. |

#46 Posted: 3/24/2012 12:24:51 PM ti!! stayed there twice and i love it. The buffet in there isn't the greatest but the tables are pretty decent and it has a small poker room. They generally play 3-4 50$ buy in tourneys that you can win up to around 500$ ish, which isn't to bad. The mall and everything is right next to it, its in a perfect location. Very close to mirage, pallazzo, the venetian and ceasars. The beds in the hotel are the most comfortable sometimes I did not even want to get out of bed. It also has a nice pool in the back where its filled with chicks. TI!!! do it up.

#47 Posted: 3/24/2012 12:46:31 PM TI has a resort fee of 25 bucks a night...it would be like 440 bucks for 4 nights....a little out of the budget for lodging.
Bed bugs? I mean I have stayed at some pretty rough hotels and motels for that matter and have never had any bed bug problems. I am going to be in my room a very MINIMAL amount of time.
Anyone with any feedback about Bills Gambling Hall? As in terms of room cleanliness? I appreciate it guys...honestly, I think any of the hotels could have bed bugs. |

#48 Posted: 3/24/2012 2:09:25 PM Just watch the booze my friend. Try stickin' with light beer. Vegas/gambling is not kind to those who don't keep thier wits about them. You can gamble most anywhere nowadays. So concentrate on what makes Vegas one of a kind..Enjoy. |

#49 Posted: 3/24/2012 4:49:30 PM Parlayed, I don't plan on getting hammered necessarily...but catching a few good buzzes will do. I don't want to be hangover half of the time I am there and I definitely don't want to waste half a day in bed recovering. I only have 4 nights so I wanna make it count! |

#50 Posted: 3/24/2012 7:07:32 PM If you want to go on the cheap check out hostelbookers.com / Las Vegas and check out AAE Casino Hotel Wild West. Its nice and clean, good location and you cant beat the price, about $ 20.00 a night.
For good air fairs I use cheapoair.com.
Good luck on your trip and bring home more than you left with.
