You lucky person! I have never even been to Vegas but always thought it would be AWESOME to go for a prize fight...even if I didn't get to go the fight.  I envy you sir...where are you flying out of in NC on Southwest? I may have asked you this question before..

sup buddy- nonstop from raleigh/durham,,you are right,,the excitement in town for fight night is incredible--I will probably take the fight in on pay per view somewhere on the strip as usually all the MGM properties will show it in house,,KY derby is always a fun day in vegas as well

Ah I live in the Triad area now and usually fly in and out of Greensboro...tinnnyyyy airport. But I read where Southwest is moving to Charlotte very soon. Kentucky Derby is great on my couch making mint juleps, I can't imagine how it'd be in Vegas.

just a lot of fun with all the buzz in the air- my room in the gold tower at the nugget is mere steps away from the action on the floor so I can slip up to catch the live call on the TV , and be right back in the mix in a matter of minutes--its a sweet way to roll

ad1260----this is how ya do it--lamb chops w/mint jelly, the steakhouse salad (thing is huge and delicious) and a glass of red,,pass on the desert as there is a fantastic chocolate shop about 10 feet away from the door,,bite size servings are the perfect capper - with a six nite stay on the horizon I will probably opt for the chops one night and a filet to wrap the trip up,planning on eating somewhere in the MGM grand on friday as I will be on site most of the day for the fun and festivites involved with the weigh in for mayweather-cotto ,,would imagine it will be packed and rockin and rollin - I'm due to hit a winner in the derby this year so really starting to get juiced,, more trip details to follow

nc1 that sounds awesome my friend. It always sounds pricey  but probably well worth it. 6 night stay? There's a 50-50 chance that I wouldn't make it 6 nights in Vegas (but that's debatable). Weigh in stuff should be pretty cool and flooded the media. Speaking of Derby winners, I actually picked the winner a few years ago when Super Saver won it on the sloppy track. Hopefully we can pick a winner this year...nonetheless, sounds like an awesome time and I am sure it will be a blast. You are always talking about downtown Vegas and say that it is better because you are more of an old school guy, how old are you anyway?

Just eat at the bar at Craaftsteak at the MGM.  It is very solid.

Nc1 my friend, have a good time!!! I actually just booked the biggest suite they have in atlantic city at the golden nugget, 2 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, wet bar etc for my leagues fantasy football draft. I usually stay at the borgata but needed more space for this. The nugget in ac is formally trump marina and under reconsgruction, but there is a.vic and anthonys there also. Gonna check it out that weekend and hope not to be disappointed lol. I was there this past weekend just to check things out but it is still undet renovation. Trump marina was a dump. Btw, check out old homestead at caesars where neros was, not sure if it is open yet, vg will have an update im sure, but it also has aweaome steaks/chops. Tbey have one at the borgata that i always go to and tbe original is in nyc. Also, like i have told you before, check out il mulino at caesars for yheir lamb chops also, grilled right in front of you and to die for. Enjoy your trip my friend

And not sure if this is true or not, but a dealer at the nugget in ac told me that the corporation that owns the chart house restaurant owns all the golden nuggets. It is a great place for a good sunday brunch/lunch/dinner place. We have one here in old town, alexandria, va and we go for dinner and a nice cigar (zino platinum crown) is my choice and a nice scotch after dinner sitting outside on the docks overlooking the water and boats. They just opened one at the ac nugget, and not sure if they have one in the vegas nugget, but also a good choice for some good seafood/fish

Going up to AC Derby Day myself..Harrahs for 5 nights.Bally's the next day for a casino chip collectors meet,Borgata monday for the racebook/VP and one day see what the new Revel is like, supposed to open right around then.

Bronco-actually went to the new GN to get some uncirculated chips last May the day they officially took over. But man does that place need a makeover..Looked like a prison or a hospital since the Borgata was built and Harrah's went nuts trying to keep up.When is your FF draft? Check out FFPC.COM if interested in a higher-stakes league. We draft in LV at Caesars opening day weekend, but many entries draft online..

hey james, yes it is in dire need of a makeover but i guess they are in the middle of it now and supposed to actually be nice.  you are right, looks like harrahs is trying to keep up with borgata.  im interested to see what revel brings to the table and how it would affect the borgata.  my ff draft is gonna be the weekend of aug 24.  got a really good deal on a huge 2 bedroom suite at the gn.  but from some of the renovations i saw last week, looks like it is coming along.  enjoy your time in ac
