Was in Atlanta Sunday, friends invited me to a WNBA game, Chicago -vs- Atlanta, 4,500 people scattered throughout a 18,500 seat arena, boring is not even remotely a word to describe this ridiculous display of basketball, women or not, it's horrible to watch, the talent is that of a boys high school team, if that...it's clear, this is nothing more than a token league that few if any care about..the league is going backwards in attendence, and it's popularity is being carried by the media, not by what few fans it has remaining...I don't see it being around in 5 years from now.

before the league dies they will try one last hailmary. a four point shot, sexier jerseys, allow one male player (hopefully nba legends lol) until then they are here to stay and theres money to be made on them. who cares about the quality if theres money there then thats all we need. afterall this is a betting website isnt it? not a basketball quality forum.

"allow one male player" CoedNBA; now that's desperation four point shot; now that's ludicrous sexier jersey's; for what? the majority of WNBA players are 'flat' chested, and the farthest thing from sex symbols"there's money to be made" really enjoy yourself, enjoy wagering on the WNBA, trust me, it has seen its final days under the leagues present constitution....check the boxscores look at the attendence per game, what do you see? it's just not happening when players salaries are subsidided by rich owners

Interesting take -- I had exactly the opposite reaction when I attended my first game a couple years ago. My wife took me to the game kicking and screaming, but I ended up enjoying the experience.
Attendance is obviously lower than an NBA game, but I liked that. Instead of being crunched in next to some drunken a-hole next to me, or a bunch of unsupervised kids running all around, we had plenty of room to spread out, which was nice. And the lines at the beer / concession stands were short and fast.
The play itself was the most surprising part. Obviously, they are not at the same level as NBA players, or even NCAA men's, but they were better than I was expecting. And the pace was fast -- it helps that the Lynx have gone over 100 every time I've gone to see them, but the fact play moves quickly makes it enjoyable to watch. Best of all -- very few commercial breaks. The entire game was done in less than two hours because they cut out all the TV timeouts, replay reviews, and all the other BS timeouts that slow down the NBA.
The league has its problems for sure. Lagging attendance, lack of high-profile stars, big names leaving to play elsewhere, taking time off to have babies, no real fanbase, etc etc. It might not survive. But I hope it does. For the 2-3 times each summer I go watch I always have a good time. [And they're the only team in this town outside of college hockey that ever wins anything.]
