Well it has been a fun season, but I guess we should have known that the season wasn't going to be good as last when when Glory Hole got preggers, Glory Hole and Griner got into a heated argument and suspended, Parker wanted some "rest" but then decides to play, DT sits the entire season, and Fowles didn't want to play under Chatman anymore because she wanted to "win titles". Up and down season but I am glad this finals series has gone to a Game #5 because I think the Fever deserve one last shot at winning the league.
Game #4 was decided in the 3Q when the Fever came out strong straight after HT. They wanted it a lot more than the Lynx did and Moore looked absolutely exhausted in the 2H. Fever are 5-0 S/U in the post season when facing elimination. Can they push it to 6? Lynx have not looked good at all but when you look at the box score of Game #4, you will see a massive disparity in one area. Free throws. The Lynx were just 6-9 all game, the Fever a massive 25-29. So a total of 20 more free throw attempts and the Fever took their chances. Now I posted at the start of this series that the Lynx were the best in the league for committing fouls. They only average around 12 shooting fouls per game. And now they give away 29 in just 1 game and I will admit, plenty of them were in the last minute of the game but still, that's a massive difference between the 2 teams. Maybe it was payback by the refs as the Lynx got through the Mercury on a dodgy last second foul.
Still yet to make a play on this game, will post as soon as I do.
BOL forum, been a good year. Forum has been smaller than previous seasons but is expected as the WNBA is unfortunately on the decline rather than the incline.

Well did some looking back at any certain trends for the WNBA finals when it changed to the 5 game series. The first 5 game series was 2005.
Here are the results for the final game since going to 5 game series.
2005: 62-59 Sacremento Won
2006: 80-75 Detroit Won
2007: 108-92 Phoenix Won
2008: 76-60 Detroit Won
2009: 94-86 Phoenix Won
2010: 87-84 Seattle Won
2011: 73-67 Minnesota Won
2012: 87-78 Indiana Won
2013: 86-77 Minnesota Won
2014: 87-82 Phoenix Won.
So since going to the 5 game format, the final game of the series has gone over 146 points a total of 7 times from 10 attempts. Now we should never look at trends like this at all because each year and each team is completely different BUT, there is something that sticks out for me from Game #4. The Fever only took 49 shots. That is incredibly low. The Lynx on the other hand had 69 shots. The Lynx had 12 offensive boards to Fever's 7. As mentioned above, free throws were completely different. Now the last game hit 144 thanks to 18 points in the final minute but this game could be that close again and especially with OT looming as well possibly. I also believe that the Fever will shot more than 49 shots in this game. So combined the Lynx and Fever took just 117 shots in Game #4.
Game #1 had 137
Game #2 had 131
Game #3 had 122
Game #4 had 117
Only 5-21 three pointers landed in Game #4 as well. Based on all the above and the expectation that one of these halves will be high scoring, I am taking the,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

this season sucked donkey balls, last year I hit 70% and bought a Cadillac, this season I sold it and drive a Hyundai with no brake lights...still fun hangin with the Boys though, maybe NBA will be better
anywhoo I expect the unexpected and will not be surprised by anything in this last game huge under blowout, huge over close game anything can happen, who feels the pressure most and who gets to the FT line could be the decider, could be anti climactic like that poor South Korean chili dippin his chip shot in the Presidents Cup in front of 10 million Koreans, wtf is the Presidents Cup anyways, just give all the top athletes keys to the space shuttle, a get out of jail card for life and let them do coke and bang person during competition on national tv b/c that's what it has become to me, I used to work under the ropes on the PGA Tour and 80% of those guys cheat on their wives and are despicable human beings, met Tiger twice and he's a clown
GL OZ hope you win the Contest as I like to read your thought process behind your bet

Really? That would have been a pretty cool job Wagers working on the PGA tour or was it a pain in the @rse traveling everywhere? Agree though that a lot of those dudes are playing up on their wives. I loved the Robert Appleby story from last year whilst he was in Hawaii.. That was classic.
It has been a sh!t season compared to the last 2 seasons but hopefully we see the return of some good players next year. Also think we might see a few big names switch teams as well. I really believe Parker will leave the Sparks in the next 1-2 years and the same with Angel. Tulsa would be hard to to stop with Sims, Diggins and Johnson next season.
Lets hope for a good NBA season buddy, unfortunately I don't have much hope for the Blazers this season with Lillard the sole survivor of their starting 5 from last season.

Like the Fever as well Shakey but hesitant to take them ATS because of how many free throws they got in Game #4 compared to the Lynx. We might see a reversal of that in Game #5.

yo. i see why the over will hit but it could go either way. in fact if you tease it 6 points either way it would hit 5-1 in any direction based on all their 6 meetings this year. im leaning on under based on the large stakes and a expected hard defensive battle in the 2h.
trend bet. 2H under (as long as it isn't some super low 1h like in game 1.)

also, total score between these teams in the finals is 298-295 indy. so its too evenly matched for a sudden minny blowout unless larkins and catchings lose their temper late in the game which could always happen with these shady refs

Great stats Ricky. Do you keep that in your own database or did you get that from a website?
Thanks DC. Been a roller coaster of a season.
Going to add another play because its the last game of the year and I really like this play...
Fever @ Lynx Game #5: Lynx TT Over 38.5 1H
Love this play a lot. I really think the Lynx come out with a BANG 1H at least. Lynx hit only 32 in the 1H in Game #4. I think they get close to 40-45 in the 1H today and really get their gears in motion 1H. Time will tell but when you have Maya Moore on your team anything is possible. I think she goes for 30 tonight and really focuses in on this game. Not saying Fever will get blown out but I think we will see an exciting game today.

Adam Silver was right, the WNBA is dead, no longer a viable product it was barely hanging on but now with Tuarasi and others going over seas it is done, too bad

This league might not survive this off-season,the product this year was so bad I can't see anyone buying season tickets which could drop a couple teams which is about all it would take. My bets on it have drop every year starting about 4 years ago, this year I might have made 20 plays, but not much more and don't see playing any next year, esp.if more players leave.
