Well I did the silly thing and actually backed the Mystics as a fav on Thursday. This time is so strange. Great team as dogs, terrible as fav's. The Liberty IMO has finally got the final piece to the puzzle with Prince. She played well in her season debut and eased some pressure off Charles. This team WILL make the playoffs and should be a very careful team going against because they have the bigs and the guards to take down plenty of teams. They just sometimes struggle on offense at times but their defense is #1 in the league right now.
Anyways, 3 games which IMO are good games. Some teams going in opposite directions compared to their opponents.
We got Stars +8 @ Fever, Sky +1.5 @ home vs the Lynx and also the Storm +6.5 @ home vs the Mercury.
Stars @ Fever
Fever flying right now, Stars are doing ok. Nothing special. Great performance from the Stars the other night without Perkins and McBride to get the win against a pathetic Sparks team. They now come to Indy who are well rested and playing great offense and defense. They have found their groove and making a push now. I would have to wait though for Perkins and McBride status before betting on this game because they Fever are looking good and if that bench of the Stars is depleted, this game will get ugly fast. Lean the over as well as both teams don't play defense at all.
Lynx @ Sky
Great game.. Lynx small fav's.Sky needed to get their season back on track because they are struggling. EDD beast as usual but the rest of the team are hit and miss. Lynx getting their mojo going and are rested for this game which is good because they did have a brutal schedule before playing some games at home which they won easily. Lynx are 8-2 S/U in their last 10 on the road as favs so the line of -1.5 is very appealing right now. During the EDD period, the Sky are 4-1 S/U as a home dog so both strong trends towards each side. Gotta say though, I lean the Lynx and the under
Mercury @ Storm:
-6.5 is a lot of points for the Mercury in Seattle. So if this game was played in Phoenix, would the line be around -12.5? Thats what the Lynx were given by the books the other day in Minny vs the Storm and even though the Lynx easily covered that line, I don't like this line as I don't believe the Mercury has done anything recently to warrant this line. Lean the Storm and the under as both teams can sometimes struggle to put up points throughout a game. Also re-match, the Mercury won this game 84-72 around 3 weeks ago in Seattle and they do have BG back in the team now. The total for that first game was hovering around the 147 mark and flew over and now the books give us a line which is exactly the same.

Well I have just read on Donbest that McBride and Perkins are out indefinitely for the Stars and Montgomery is questionable tomorrow. Wow.. What a debacle.

1H Indy express ? Probably yes, although I am not sure if Indy coach will be able to motive her team again and again. On the other hand, the Tigers over streak got broken today so maybe that streak will be broken too ? Maybe also 1H Chi: Minny seems to take it easy in the 1Hs.

Check out the stars next 6 games. I see 0-6 SU. They have been screwed by horrible scheduling. 4 of their next 6 will be on 1 days rest and major travel and bounce around.
Today I like Fever-8. Coach has got that offense to click finally. The fever's +- is 3 points better on 1 days rest. McBride and Perkins out again should take a toll on the stars depth. Fever's bench points are much higher than stars. I'm passing on the total because I'm smelling a possible blow out, but leaned over initially. Early bettors liked the under.

over 156 Minn/Chi what confounds me is the total in this Minn/Chi game, you would think this would be like a good ole Mavs/Thunder over with their style of play, yet both meetings went under last season. In looking closer at those games the 1st meeting Min won in Chi 75-72, it was early in the season and Chi was not at full strength w/out Gremlin and Garnett but now the team knows those 2 are gone and have adjusted. There were long scoring droughts and very low 3pt and FT opportunities and EDD had a rather pedestrian game b/c Maya ratcheted up her defense on her. The 2nd mtg was very late in the season and both were fighting for playoff seeding and defense was at a premium as Chi fell at Minn 64-74 in a lackluster game. EDD was coming off the bench recovering from Lyme disease and only scored 2pts. Minn has yet to crack 80pts on the road but mainly b/c they've either blown a team out or been blown out. They routinely scored 80+ on the rd and breached this 156 total last season. Chi is playing only their 4th home game and this has to be a huge game for the fans and the players. There really is no look ahead for either team and both are well rested. EDD was at the top of her game a few weeks ago but perhaps that sharpness returns tonight. Minn has yet to stretch their legs in a barn burner and Chi defense is known to give it up in some competitive shoot outs which I think this'll be. Being that it is early in the season with no playoff defensive pressure applied yet, lots of good scorers on both sides and 2 heavy weight teams going at it I have to take any total in the mid 150s over and live with it should it be a grinder or long uninspired play causes yet another under in this series. I recall that awesome OT shootout 2 years ago in Chi where the Sky won in OT 94-86 and I think we get something like that where one team is in the 80s and the other not far behind. Hopefully they find a good offensive groove in the 1st half, hit some 3 balls and get to the FT line their fair share and we cruise to an easy over. 83-82 Chi

Wagers, you made a valid pt about the high scoring teams. I wonder if they match up so well that shots are challenged and missed. Or will it be a ton of free throws which stops the clock.
I like the over but MINN has something 2 prove defensively.

Stars are going to give the Fever a run for their money today IMHO. Dan Hughes is going to clog the paint up nicely and the Fever will have to resort to long range jumpers and 3 points. Yes they might make a few 3 pointers today the Fever but I do not see this game getting over 146 points. Im thinking something along the lines of 75-69.

hahahah Shakey!! I know mate but this game I thought was the right game to bet under on because the Stars offense looked bad the other night vs the Sparks without McBride and Perkins and I thought that their shooting would be bad tonight. Guess i was wrong

Ok fellas, I was hoping for the +4 line. I don't believe the Lynx are just going to come into Chicago and walk all over a team with EDD in it. Sky always step up for the big games and play down to their opponents level when playing against lower teams. I think they might even get a cheeky win today but will take the Sky +4 in what should be an entertaining game today.
