I writing this topic based on things that I have noticed so far this season.. before I continue its just an analysis which you the reader may agree/disagree.. hence why its open for discussion. I don't pretend to know everything about capping NBA and I still consider myself very much a novice compared to my fellow mates hiding in the WNBA forum..
In the off season, there was a huge amount of trades/signings etc, huge power shifts from one team to another eg (CAVS/HEAT) is one.
As a result, the changes of players and coaches have made impacts good or bad depending on how you view things, I also believe that the nature and style of game has changed significantly in the first few months of this season. Will it revert back after all star heading into playoffs? who knows, it may in some part and may not in others.
My first thoughts heading into the start of the season and in the first week or so is that the last season's playbook needs to have some major changes, adapt to survive mentality etc, was my gut feeling.. every sport evolves and at some point affect outcomes of games in a positive or negative way...
I think as a collective, we need to dig deeper to find more favourable trends and adapt our plays or change them completely, if something isn't working, don't make the same plays again and again.. also use of limiting or no plays on certain days like Sundays and good old TNT Thursday nights.. regular breaks in the week, I usually take 1-2 days off each week, for me helps keep my mind from imploding and reaching that's all I think about level and getting my mind in a rut.. helps broaden perspective and more of a chance to pick up on something that you might not have seen...
anyway happy hunting and I hope my little analysis helps

I like the way you are thinking itp. I for one and not having any fun this NBA season, in big part because I keep losing more than I win but primarily nothing makes sense. I usually pride myself on being a decent gambler and have always felt that even if I had a difficult stretch I'd pull out of it with a more than good stretch. This season is different, or maybe it's not b/c I struggled in NBA last season too, in that I have never got a foot hold.
I think there a certain variables that are almost impossible to overcome. #1 Vegas is such a fine tuned machine with what must be computer generated simulations #2 they get inside dope on players before we do and most importantly #3 motivation or style of play or whatever you want to call it changes from night to night. When you combine all 3 it's a total crap shoot for me. For example in WNBA you don't really have #3 working against you, in fact it works in our favor.
Anyways, any discussion is fine by me and maybe I'll just tail you guys.

cheers wagers... you mentioned about pc generated simulations maybe being used by vegas, I remember someone last season using 2K13 or 2K14 to use as a predictor, tho can't remember how they went lol
yeh the motivation is a weird beast in the NBA, nothing like I've seen in any other sport
