Ironic that refusing to fight Chael Sonnen may be very costly to Jon Jones long term IF it does turn out to be nerve damage.
Also Chael Sonnen was correct about Vitor always hurting himself before fights and was again with Vitor fighting Jon with a broken hand suffered in training camp. No wonder he did not throw many punches and was content---even happy to pull guard, knowing that was his best chance considering his hand situation.
Considering his hand situation and coming way closer than anyone to defeating JJ, he has to be givin much praise, although i would personally have liked to see him pull out (like most fighters in that situation would have) to let Sonnen step in. It would have made for great prefight drama and a lot more PPv buys. |
