#3 Posted: 9/7/2012 2:17:45 AM I'm a weirdo and I think Struve has really improved and won't just go out there and get his glass jaw busted up, if he stays outside and moves I think he's got a good shot! , I'll take anyone vs Kingsbury!

#4 Posted: 9/7/2012 7:32:38 AM Jimi Manuwa weak tdd good muay thai striker hits hard good knees in clinch weak jits weak guard appears to not go for td's never gone past 2nd ...cardio ???
Kyle Kingsbury plus size and reach ok striking ok td's ok cardio weak guard
jimi could win if he ko's kingsbu but kingsbu brings more into this fight and can win in a variety of ways. kingsbu ain't going to stand with this bloke. he's going to get in there and take this newbie down and keep him there. |

#6 Posted: 9/7/2012 11:18:12 AM I said it myself years ago, but it keeps being said that struve has a glass jaw. He doesn't. This "kid" is 24, and has 11 fights in the UFC already, and 8 wins. Show me another fighter with 8 UFC wins at 24. He has been KO'd 4 times, sure, but he has been in the cage with some of the hardest hitters at heavyweight: Lavar, Herman, Buentello, Browne, Nelson, JDS. He got KO'd by Jr, before everyone knew Jr's power. All of these fighters have tested his chin and he's passed.
Miocic is a hard hitter, and can KO Struve, for sure, but I'm not sure he hits harder than anyone mentioned above. Miocic has the wrestling that can probably dictate that this fight stays on the feet. But if it does hit the mat, Struve by sub quickly. On the feet, Struve has a huge reach advantage. He gets tagged a lot for that huge reach, but if he mises in kicks, I don't see how he's a 2 to 1 dog. |

#7 Posted: 9/7/2012 1:05:38 PM Stefan Struve tall ok muay thai striker good jits good guard weak tdd pulls guard weak chin cardio ???
Stipe Miocic aggressive striker decent boxing ok leg kicks ok td's hard puncher good gnp good chin cardio ???
tough fight to cap. miocic the unproven going against the young vet. scheduled for 5 it ain't going there. the only way struve wins is by sub. he's not gonna hurt stipe with his stand up. we already know he doesn't use his reach to his advantage. i could see him maybe in the clinch giving stipe a thai clinch knee that rocks stipe and floors him giving him the grappling adv. but i doubt it. stipe is only getting better i can't see him as a champ but he could be a carwin level fighter. stipe will either one punch ko this kid or just land a bevy of strikes that floor struve and is followed by dstipe on top on struve landing blows that will make herb to stop the fight.
or i could be wrong |

#15 Posted: 9/25/2012 2:56:19 PM I love Wiman, but I'm not sure he'll be able to keep the fight standing. and if Volkmann got subbed pretty easy, along with many others, Sass finshes Wiamn I think
I like hardy to KO Amir
I like Mills to KO Ludwig |

#16 Posted: 9/25/2012 4:56:20 PM i think the wiman/sass fight is going to play out like belcher/palhares. wiman shaking off subs and gnp his way to victory if it gets to the ground. matt is going to keep it standing and out class him with his striking. either way ending the fight via tko. |

#19 Posted: 9/26/2012 1:16:01 AM Right on top of it eh whipton? I like Hardy and Mills as well, seems like everyone is though, I'm interested what the lines will be!
Also I gotta say I'm kinda liking Miocic at -220 in this one now. He should land the more damaging shots standing (Struve's reach is only 3" more here), and if he gets on top, I think he's going to beat the garbage out of Struve similar to what Morecraft and Stojnic did to him.
I do like Struve and it's easy to imagine him getting the sub after those Barry and Johnson fights, and the mounted TKO over Herman (who totally disregards BJJ), but you just have to watch those earlier fights to see that Miocic should out-strike him, and if/when he winds up on top he'll avoid the subs and Struve will steadily absorb alot of damage.. he's a bleeder and I wouldn't be all that surprised if Miocic took a ground and pound approach to this unless he was just blasting Struve with his stand up.

Stojnic/struve is the fight to watch to see how this fight can potentially go down. miocic is kind of green though; which kind of scares me. i can see him getting caught, but i would still take him. miocic via tko @ -156. |

#23 Posted: 9/26/2012 2:30:35 PM Looks like we are on a lot of the same fighters, that's good.
I like Gunnar Nelson to KO Johnson
Tavares to utterly destory Tom Watson
Torn on the Akira Andy Ogle fight but i'm leaning Ogle
Need to do more research before capping Manuwa and Kingsbu
Che Mills over Ludwig by KO
I like hathaway to stifle Maguire's wrestling / submissions, maguire is 5'9 and 69" reeach and hathaway is 6'1 with a 75.5" reach
I like Sass to sub Wiman, Wiman could keep it standing long enough to blast Sass as Sass's striking defense / offense is downright terrible.
Joubin at +240? Yeah I'll be on that, I think Pickett will have trouble with his speed and leg kicks.
Dan Hardy should continue his resurgence, he is really not that bad and I think he is quite a bit better than Sadollah.
I like Stipe to find Struve's chin sometime in the first three rounds, those long skinny legs are perfect targets for his decent leg kicks as well. Stipe's D1 wrestling should allow him to dictate where the fight takes place, struve could pull guard but I like Stipe's chances of defending and getting back up.

#24 Posted: 9/26/2012 2:32:47 PM Oh right Jason Young vs Robbie Peralta
Close fight on paper, I'm going to give the edge to Young for fighting at home and probably being able to keep it standing where he has a slight advantage, should be a good one though.

This is good capping. I'm still going to predict Sass but probably bet a lil on Wiman rather than going medium to heavy on this fight.
