With Hendo out, and Jon Jones turning down a quick Sonnen brawl, UFC scraps an entire card for the 1st time ever

Joe Lauzon:

"Not only has this screwed over all the fans that bought tickets, non refundable airfare, took off work, made arrangements, etc... but think of all the fighters. Fighters that put in full camps, flew people in that helped them trains, etc. By the time I am actually fight, I spend close to 20k between corners, flights, expenses, coaches, etc... and then to have the whole show cancelled because ONE guy didn't want to fight. This ONE guy that had trained an entire camp, who was the CHAMP and at the top of his weight class, who was going to fight someone who didn't do the camp, and was fighting UP a weight class.

I have always been a big Jon Jones supporter... but I would be FURIOUS if this happenned to me and I was on the card. To call is scorched earth wouldn't do it justice.

dana couldve demanded jones fight as he is the boss. but dana, as smart as he is, knows that the backlash by fighters and fans will be more punishment than anything he couldve done.

oh yeah. darn greg jackson and his bullshit. i think white and the fertittas are sick of his bullshit fights and it wouldnt suprise me if jacksons fighters start losing decisions on a regular basis.

Rumors of Chris Weidman moving up in weight on short notice, but why would Jones take that fight and not Chael? so prob just rumors.

If Jones was looking to make more fans this is not the way.

Looks like he might fight Machida on Sept 22.  From the comments Jones made about "high risk low reward...blah blah...lowest pay per view numbers...blah blah" he wants no part of a Machida rematch.  Personally I think Machida has the best shot to take his belt.

Just got paid on an 8 (turned7) parlay, a 5 (turned 4), and a 4 (turned 2)... Not a bad thing gettin paid out, but one more winner would have been a good bump

I had Aldo at -500 vs Koch at 147 but they closed off both parlays. Usually they keep them live if it happens in same year. The line is worse now

I am going to UFC 152, so I am happy that we are getting Jones vs Machida again.  The Toronto card was looking very thin...

I also hope they add a couple more of those fights to the Toronto card.  I would have no problem sitting through a 15+ fight card!

At the same time, I am shocked that they did not go through with the show.  I doubt an Ellenberger - Heiron main event would have done any worse PPV wise than UFC 147.

Maybe they could have lowered ppv price and given a credit for ticket buyers

MR I'm sure you'll get a couple fights added. You deserve that after losing a couple at the Vegas event

Heiron vs Ellenberger has been moved to UFC on FX 5 (oct 5th)

A 15-fight UFC 152 would be cool.  God damn do I hope Machida beats Bones.  Sucks we'll have to wait another 4 weeks for it to get here

hmm , I don't blame Jon Jones 100% here;

UFC should make deeper cards, if your co-main can't be a main event, I think you failed at making a card for the fans.

Also, if ufc REALLY cared about their fighters getting paid, they should just toss the card on anyways as like a fight night or something, or just stfu and pay them and stop blaming other people , they run a buisness, garbage happens, shoulda planned better for it

Yeah, I am disappointed, and just when I was starting to get on a bit of a roll.  I was hoping to use UFC 151 profits to bankroll week one of NCAA Football and NFL...

There's no need to cancel the card. All UFC has to do is go to any redneck bar and promise any thug in the joint a six pack and a pack of beef jerky and they'll fight anybody.

Promise them a pickup truck with a gun rack and a couple of tattoos if they win and they'll give it their all. 90% of the people that are dumb enough to pay for this garbage don't care who fights as long as they get to watch two goons beat the garbage out of each other.
