Since Bones Jones disposed of Shogun in 2011, he has gone 1 and 1 with a win over Forrest(who is barely even a fighter) and then lost a decision to a 40 year old Dan Henderson

Since Bones Jones destroyed Vera in 2010, Vera has gone 1-0 with a  No Contest against Thiago Silva and a Decision win over Elliot Marshall who is a B- level fighter at best.

Now how in the Hell do either one of these guys winning warrant a title shot?

Or is Dana White offering this Title shot just so that the main event is exciting?

I was just reading this and thinking the exact same thing.  I will give White Rua even though I think there could be pretty easy arguement agianst it but Vera?  WTF would line be for Jones vs. Vera?

Trying to hype the main event.  No way does Shogun or Vera fight for the title after this fight.

Only fights that really make sense for Jon Jones at this point are Gustafson or maybe Glover Tex.

Dana confirmed again today the winner fights jones. And he said Gustafson gets a top guy next. But Gustafson is a good standby in case of late injury to rua ( or Vera) vs jones

Well, that is assuming that Jones Beats Henderson in September.

So beating Kyle Kingsbury on a prelim fight means you're ready to fight for the title?

sharpstick, have you heard anything about a Superfight between Bones and the Spider at Dallas Stadium next spring?

Not necessarily, but when he buzzsaws through Rampage in the same fashion, they might want to give him a look.

I want to see fresh faces.  Let's quit with the rematches for a while.

I haven't.  But it certainly would be a great idea before Anderson retires.

My problem with Anderson is his current diva status (which he probably has earned at this point) of picking and choosing who he wants to fight.  This whole Nick Diaz thing, and calling out GSP right now?  What about the people in his own division?

I agree with cuttin out so many auto rematches. But Rollin over rampage shouldn't move you in a title position.

Dana announced that whoever has the more impressive win between Shogun, Rua, Machida & Bader will get the title shot. This seems like desperation, but I don't mind the idea

So now it's performance based between 4 guys? Things just keep on changing.

I like it. Might see more aggression rather than boring out pointing

maybe hes telling everyone that this greg jackson/condit/guida/jordan bullshit will no longer be tolerated.

kudos to dana white giving the fans what they want. last thing i want to see is another diaz/condit or maynard/guida.
