Yeah Lompard did not fight great but Tim.B landed what, one jab?, was hurt in the 2nd round, maybe par'd the 1rst and got put on his back in the 3rd. What did he win on leg kicks? Did Lompard not throw leg kicks, Thats a bad bad decession. Sick.

What exactly did he do that he deserved to win? Threw a few wild hooks every now and then?

The only thing Lumberg did in the 3rd round was got a takedown that lasted what? 5 seconds?

What did Lumberg do in the 3rd? He had a takedown that he didn't do anything with that didn't last very long. Other than that, he got outstruck.

The books had him at -800 live going into the last round. When the fight was over before the score card, Joe Rogan was showing all the Lombard highlights. WTF What next Timothy Bradley vs Hector lombard.

I guess the books thought that Hector was going to unleash the fury in the 3rd, which is odd because even before the fight, Joe said that Tim had to get it to the 3rd round because of Hector's cardio.

MMA Weekly and Sherdog both had the fight 1 round a piece going into the 3rd round.

Quite odd that the books would have it -800.

I thought Lombard won the fight.

But it wasn't a highway robbery.  It was just a bad decision.

Fight metric and what not aren't the best to go by all the time.  But they had Boetsch out-landing him while having a higher %.

Bottom line is Lombard was hype.  I figured he would win that fight.  But people grossly overrated him.  Tim is a solid MW, but that was the best fighter Lombard had faced in years.  Lombard was hesitant because he is used to can crushing.

lombard went 30+ minutes sparring with josh barnett where he allegedly gave as good as he took.

hard to call a guy like that hype. thats a 5'8" guy going against a 6'3" heavyweight and probably giving up 50+ pounds in the process.

i think he moves to 170 and does well. there are reports out there that he dominates alves when training.

I lumphursch looked like garbage. But if you check you rapistbergers last thread you will see that I predicted the racist judges up here in Canada would never give a decision to a Cuban. Especially if he's fighting Johnny whitebread

That is odd.  Because that is EXACTLY what I call hype.

A guy "hanging" with a HW in PRACTICE.

Fact is Lombard has had trouble with any even decent fighter he has fought.  The 3 best fighters he ever fought...he lost to.  He has beaten up straight cans from the side of the street for the last few years.

Tad different in the UFC.

You can keep "hearing" that he "hung" with Josh Barnett "once" in PRACTICE.  But that mean jack garbage in actual fighting other men who want to take your head off.  Not friendly sparring.

Not sure what to think of that possible move.

On one hand it never hurts to move down if you are short for your class.  That is if you can make the cut well.

On the other hand he has never had a problem with being bullied around.  He has been known to gas at 185...so.  At 170 he loses much of his speed advantages but if he is just going to stand there like and idiot that may not matter anyway.

what about the mexicutioner? how does he fit into all of this?

i dont think a judge that has an affinity towards mexicans would feel to kindly to a guy proclaiming to kill mexicanos, even if he is a mexicano himself.

perhaps this explains all of beltran's decision losses.

and yeah, i think lombard would be vicious at 170 if he can make the cut.

it was not "friendly sparring." listen to the erik paulson interview.

apparantly they were both bleeding and the floor had to be periodically mopped from the blood and both guys wouldnt quit. a five minute sparring turned into 32-minutes of violence. barnett was so pissed that he later got lombard in the cage( on a different day) and layed on him with his 260+ pounds, wouldnt let hector up and embarrased him in front of everyone. hector was still enraged two years later that he called out josh(he was in the audience) after he knocked out goodman and they were going to go right then and there that night in hollywood, florida.

any 185 that can hang with josh barnett for 32-minutes of bad-blood war is anything but hype. guy has manhoef power with judo and bjj to go with it.

i posted on shadydude's thread that lombard was overpriced and that tim would be the favorite if he could get past the first round so im not nuthugging on lombard. i just think that hes too small for 185 and could be a force at 170 if he could make the cut. that, and hes getting way too much hate.
