Locking in Evans + 430    2 units

We can discuss all day who is a better fighter but this line is ridiculously retarded

I can't knock you that much for taking that line on a top level fighter.

But people have lost pretty much 100% of the time trying to take a GSP/Anderson opponent and thinking they have value.  Jon Jones is pretty much at or close to that level in my opinion.  And is still getting better each time out.    Those big lines are warranted in my eyes.

Bon Jones your welcome to come and try to take my 2 units, but I assure you will not walk away unscathed like your other fights. Your blood will shed in this fight. Evans have the size, strengths, and all  the necessary skills of an elite fighter to compete and beat you. Lets go Evans lets go for the those skinny legs

well everyone knows that they used to train together and evans has been calling him out since.

chuck and tito used to train together and tito never called chuck out. in fact he did his best ot avoid him. something about friends shouldnt fight each other.

chuck quickly said that they were more like acquaintances.

that garbage was funny.

I don't understand the post because Rashad is a small 205.  So he doesn't have the size.  He doesn't use kicks, so how will he go after those small legs?

I see no advantage for Rashad really other than experience.

Not sure if I will throw Jones in parlays or not.  Will know closer to the fight I guess.

But I will be rooting for Rashad.  Was a Bones fan when he first cam on the scene.  Watched his whole career and knew he would be awesome.  But since he has gotten big I haven't cared for his personality.

Don't really care for either, but wouldn't mind a shake up and a Jones wake up call.

I just don't see it happening here.

jonny you got good mma knowledge   Rashad looks big to me. Good, smart fighters adapts to exploits their opponent's weaknesses. Sometimes   you just gotta look at the intangibles and bet the dog. It feels good to get paid multiples time you know . Step outside the box  buddy

Look at the size difference between the two when they are face to face in the octagon when the fight was announced after a fight. And at the press conference. Rashad's head might be bigger though.

were tito and lidell friends? was that before or after chuck spanked his behind?

Jones has the longest reach in UFC history at 84.5", Evans 75". Height: Jones 6'4", Evans 5'11". It's nice to get paid on longshot bet, but that's exactly what Evans is - a longshot.

Messed up post ^

Phil Davis was taller and had longer reach too at 6 ft 2 in   79 reach.   But I know Phil is not  Jones.

i love 'dogs and will more than likely throw a half-unit on evans, but first i need to be able to mentally see a way he can win, and right now i can't think of one.  how do you see him winning?  landing a big shot? tko? decision?

Taking the "value" bet in Silva/GSP fights over the last 5 years would give you a 0-21 record.  While I don't think Jones is on their level yet, I won't be betting against him until I see him lose

I've never bet against GSP or Anderson.  But I took Shogun, Rampage, and Machida all over Bones

After re-watching that Machida fight a few weeks ago, I told myself I'd never bet against Jones again as long as his title run lasts.  The line on Rashad is so damn tempting though, he's done nothing but win over top competition.  And he was very, very effective in the Tito and Davis fights.

It was good to see jones get tested by machida. It showed he could take some shots. He will likely have to get through a couple rough spots with rashad. But theres no reason to thinkrashad doesn't end up unconscious on the mat like everyone else bones fights

I do think he is on their level.  He might not have their praise and status, simply because he hasn't done it as long.

But the fact that he is like 25 years old makes him MORE scary.  Because he is just going to be a better version each time out.

Shogun, Machida, and Rampage (a motivated in shape Page) are amazing opponents.  And he basically walked through them using all styles to win.  He outstruck Shogun and Rampage.  He hit a standing guillotine vs. Machida.  And could have out wrestled all of them.  (Rampage did stuff a few tho).  He also tossed Bader around.

It isn't going to get much better than those guys at 205lbs.  And if he had an easy time of it, I doubt there is much left to give him problems.  At 205lbs you always have to worry about the possibility of a 1 shot KO ala Hendo Bomb.  But Jones' massive reach helps him to not get caught.

I put Jones' in the GSP/Anderson category because he has already beat most of the top guys with ease....and he can only get better.

And I don't care for Jones' but I've always realized he would be perhaps one of the best ever.

I see jones probably winning, but RE is such well rounded overall fighter, so talented, it could be very competive.

If they fought 20 times i see RE winning 7 times or 35%. The odds say 20% so i am with you LONG- very small however, because of the value only, which does not seem to matter much vs these monster fighters, but this is close to monster the monster is fighting himself this time.

before.

tito avoided chuck for at least a year. chuck, a pretty mild-mannered guy, actually had to go public to finally get the fight as the ufc was protecting tito who was their cash cow at the time.

most recently, kirkland called out angulo(boxing) and they used to spar together. kirkland ended up koing him as a underdog in mexico...angulos home country.

there is something seriously wrong when a guy is a +430 against someone he used to train with and has been calling out forever.

i dont remember jones chin ever being tested either

Machida tested his chin. He had a couple barrages of strikes that pushed bones back if I recallcorrectly

Machida sort of tested it.  Jones got hit a few times clean and didn't look like it was a big deal.

But if strikers like, Shogun, Machida, and Rampage couldn't test it much....why would a non-striker like Evans be able to ?

I completely agree with the original point of this thread... and it seems like when Rashad and Jones have sparred together, neither one really dominated.

Jones is a great fighter, and he'll probably win but this line is absurd. I expect this to be an engaging fight both ways.. I love Rashad at anything over +400.

Evans is going to get his behind demolished, just like everyone else that jones faces, while your fools, sit here and try to convince each other that evans has a chance in this fight, ill be laying my money on a proven young champion,no disrespect to those who like underdogs and all but to bet on Rashad Evans to beat John Jones is a stupid behind bet... The kid has finished his last three opp in spectacular fashion,
