Not a huge bet but i must say that  I wont be totally disapointed if Diaz wins, it will set up a huge title fight vs GSP who actually said he wants Diaz to win badly. Always fun to have that extra drama between two guys that actually dont like each other...

I would love to see how diaz fights against a very good wrestler who can defend against BJJ.. i havent watched him fight against a guy like that yet..

I don't want to get ahead of ourselves and break down a Nick/GSP fight.

But I think GSP would win.  Via lay and pray.  He won't stand with him.  Would be dumb.  And on the ground he can't exactly go wild with GNP, while Diaz has a dangerous guard and a guard where he can defend a bit too.  I think GSP pretty much takes him down each round and beats him up with elbows.  Maybe even cuts him.  And he wins a 5 round decision.

I think if GSP truly is that mad.  And will "put the biggest beating on him the UFC ever has seen" then he is in trouble.  He stands and tries to prove something and Nick will kick his behind.  If he goes wild on the ground it opens a ton up for Nick to work.  I truly don't believe GSP when he says anything like that.  Every fight he says sorry for not finishing and next time he will be better.  EACH FIGHT

I think GSP wins with wrestling and control.  But Diaz is the biggest danger to him.  And Diaz can get in guys head better than anyone.  GSP hating him is exactly what he wants.  Either way it is an exciting fight...or we get to hear Diaz call GSP a girl for laying around on him.

Also, any thoughts on a lean for goes the distance vs. ends inside the distance?  5 rounds is a long time for these guys to be going at the pace I expect.

GL with the rest of your plays, should be a good card.

i agree with you 100%...  If im wrong, which wouldnt be the first time, and Diaz destroys Condit then you would see some pretty juicy odds on GSP who we both agree provides a different kind of matchup than what Condit brings to the table. Both very different styles...

So if Diaz crushes condit, i actually wouldnt be mad because then the odds on GSP would not be in the massive -300/-400 range like some of GSP matches have been.  The only thing that scares me for when GSP fights in his upcoming match is the long layoff. its a pretty common trend that some of the users here at covers have used to base a lot of our decision making on fights...that a long layoff is a huge factor and a lot of the time it leads to a loss. i usually go against the year long layoff fighters...  Im hoping GSP doesnt fall into that, big layoff = loss...

Such a tough call, i almost never bet on whether a fight goes inside the distance or not...

GL to you too man.  Did you make any bets so far? or just laying low on this one?

That's a very posisble outcome. I'm just curious why GSP did not want to fight Shields on the ground. Was he afraid of Shields BJJ? If thats the case he better be afraid of Diaz ground game too.

Because Shields has the standup of a 12 year old boy.  Diaz on the other hand is dangerous in both places.

GSP is so well rounded, he has said before, he takes the fight to where he thinks he can best win. on the feet against a ground expert (Kos, Shields), and on the ground with a striking specialist (alves)

Good Luck Money, on the other side in the Diaz fight, but always interested in your opinions.

I think JonnyG turned me on to the wager of the evening, and thats Condit/Diaz to start the 2nd round at -410.

Best of Luck Sir !!

Dont worry, im not super confident in these plays... I just want the action so to speak. I have a sick feeling that diaz is going to win but on the bright side, it should set up a great match with GSP where i think GSP might have some good value for once...
