I said in my previous post that if the Raiders did not beat the chargers "that we would have to concede that this is a flawed, psychologically weak and/or broken team. The move from Oakland to Vegas, the big expectations, Carr's massive contract, etc... could all be weighing this team down."
Well, there is certainly evidence that that is the case. And yet, the Raiders were a couple of plays away from taking a stranglehold on that game against the Chargers. They stopped running Lynch in the second half and Carr's interception in the red-zone was very costly. Although the Raiders are rested and the Chiefs a bit banged up it is hard to back the Raiders here with anything but a small bet (as they are catching 3 points at home), simply because they have not earned our trust.
1) The offense and the offensive coordinator seem lost (bring back Musgrave). Raiders are ranked 30th in offense, while Niners are 20th. Unlike last year, they have no identity on offense.
2) Cooper, their number-one receiver, has dropped off the face of the earth and has forgotten how to catch a football.
3) There is talk that something happened to this team in Washington that fractured/divided the locker room.
4) Del Rio suddenly looks like the meat-head who was fired from Jacksonville. Nothing he has said suggests he knows what is wrong with the team or how to fix it.
5) They now play a team in KC that was humming until last week and has all the weapons on offense to expose the Raiders defense.
The x-factor here is the addition of Bowman. His leadership, more than anything, is what will be needed. But how much will he be able to bring to this team on such short notice?
