That has to be right. If they lost money it was probably because of the second half play.... |

#32 Posted: 2/4/2013 12:17:58 AM You idiots realize just the books on the strip lost 5 million in November. Worst month on record. They were crushed by Baltimore in the playoffs. They'll survive, but they lost BIG. FACT! |

Everyone including touts were on the under that I saw. And that line dropped all week if I'm correct so the money had to be on the under????
I'm skeptical of any numbers splashed out for the public to view and would never trust them. The total went down a point or point and a half depending where you went, which means money pushed it down which is the only sensible conclusion, so the money was on the under. The line was set high for two teams known more for defense which I saw as a bait to play the under on a very high number, so I went the other way and played the Over while the total moved down.
I manage a sportsbook, so I got the numbers from the people and the groups that really know where the money is. |

#38 Posted: 2/4/2013 12:31:00 AM Clepto - line and ML both shot up today.
Just curious - why do you think "vegas" (whatever the darn that means" lost on the Ravens ML? (not futures teasers or other stuff, just spread and ML).

the most incompetant individuals in the race and sports books are the ticket writers, just ask the book at the IP about a moron named Steve White. |

Huh?
Line went from 3.5 to 4.5 on the last day of wagering (heaviest usually).
ML went from -170 to -210.
Since I have no idea what "vegas" takes on bets, explain to me why the line would move like that unless there was SF money to move it?
Thanks in advance.

#43 Posted: 2/4/2013 1:01:22 AM Why do you guys think spreads are set at 1.90?? You do not get even money. All those 10c of every dollar on a winning ticket adds up. They dont lose regardless of results. Thats why lines move - to even up the money on each side. Even if they did take a small loss, there are people betting on countless other sports, horse racing, etc... You think they wont make any loss back by the end of the day??? |

SLOW DOWN
Guess I did not make sense.....
I MEANT.. " a lot of San Francisco money came in the last 18 or so hours"... that was why the line adjusted so rapidly, IMHO, and then, came back down..........

Didnt realize sharp money was worth more than square money.
I assume if baltimore was bet, the line would move to baltimore. Sharp money square money whatever. More money on the Ravens ML would move the line down. It went up 40 cents.
Just dont understand how that aligns with your comments.

#50 Posted: 2/4/2013 1:09:35 AM The other thing is that when a favorite loses the books win.. Most gamblers have no idea what they are doing. Sharps and i suppose us will look in depth because we value our money. But a lot of big bettors go big on anything because they have money to blow. There would have been people putting million dollar bets on sf today just becauae they support them or just because they are favorites. Thats where the books win... |
