What an idiotic comment. So his birth mother comes around and reaches out right about the time it becomes obvious he is likely to have a professional career as a NFL QB? What was keeping her from reaching out to him 8 years ago when she had her other child? Or when he turned 18? Would she be putting in all this effort if he wasn't this successful?
It's absolutely selfish of her to just show up and hope he'll want to have any form of relationship with her. All she did was give him his DNA, give birth, and pass him on to someone else. Why would he even give her the time of day?
Sadly, this is a common theme for a number of pro athletes. I personally know another player in the NFL whose dead beat dad was no where around through most of his life....until he was a big deal in college football and people started speculating what round he'd go in the draft.
