It was a miserable night for every team in the organization, except Indianapolis, which was off.

-P- Altoona dropped a doubleheader to Trenton. The Curve got routed, 10-2, in game one. Phil Irwin started and allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings. He did manage to fan seven. Logan Kensing then gave up six runs in the 6th. He wasn't helped when Mike Colla entered with the bases loaded and two out, and let everybody score. Quincy Latimore hit his 5th HR for Altoona. Tim Alderson had the system's only good start in game two, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings. He fanned five. Vic Black added a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk, and fanning two. The pitching went for naught, though, as Altoona was shut out on three hits and lost, 2-0. Robbie Grossman returned from a week-long suspension and went 0-6 with three strikeouts on the day. Jarek Cunningham was 1-6 with five Ks.

-P- Bradenton lost, 8-4, as Jameson Taillon got shelled by a weak-hitting Fort Myers team. Much of the damage came in a six-run 4th inning. Taillon gave up eight runs, all earned, on ten hits and a walk over 4.2 IP. He fanned four. The hits included five doubles and a HR. But, hey, I'm sure they were all lucky hits. In six starts over the last month, Taillon has an ERA of 8.13, thanks to 41 hits, 15 of them for extra bases, in 31 innings. His season's ERA is 4.52.

-P- Zack Dodson got hammered as West Virginia got stomped, 9-2, by Lexington. Dodson became the third pitcher in the system to allow a six-run inning when he got knocked out in the 5th. On the day he allowed seven runs, six earned, in 4.1 IP, on eight hits and two walks. He struck out none. In fact, Power pitchers didn't record any whiffs on the day. Ryan Hafner threw two innings in relief and continued to struggle with his control. He gave up two runs on three hits and three walks. On the season he's walked 37 and struck out 17. The Power had only six hits, including Junior Sosa's second HR.
