I understand the need for ad revenue CT, but what is with this change now of putting ads directly into the threads themselves?

I would also like to know about this.  It's one thing to have them in the usual places.. wide skyscrapers and banners.. but putting large block adds embedded directly in the thread makes reading them discontinuous and quite frankly incredibly bothersome.  This change certainly lowers the quality of the user experience far more than it adds revenue.  I strongly encourage the Covers team to remove these embedded ads.

I cannot agree more with si1ly here CT -- no problem with the banner and side ads but the ads directly in the thread really effect the user experience in a negative fashion

I think it's safe to say that by now the lack of response from the Covers team is basically them telling us they know how obnoxious it is, but they don't give a darn.  Is that about right?

Incorrect. CT isn't the ad team.

Hey Guys,

This is something we are trying. Advertisers are important and allow us to keep doing what we are doing.

Regardless of whether I addressed the comment to the right person.. I assumed that the moderators are interconnected and our comments here are being forwarded to the appropriate governing body at Covers.  Consequently, I take the lack of response from 'the ad team' as they don't give a darn.  Is THAT about right?

CT, thanks for replying anyways even though it's apparently not your place to address this issue.  You say you're trying something.. well it isn't working.  Please alert the appropriate Covers employees of our overwhelming distaste with the new ad placement.

I enjoyed your joke, but apparently somebody at Covers did not.  I don't see anywhere in the manifesto that says you can't capitalize the letters S, B & R in sequence in a sentence.  Some Bullshit Right-there.

The ads are extremely obtrusive and really take away from the user experience. We all understand that Covers wants to make money but shoving ads in the middle of threads is going to drive users away.

The only thing this place has going for it is the user base which was built from very early on. The software is dated, the rules are archaic, and these ads are just another negative. This is not the only betting forum on the Internet.

Dude thinner? Get 'em out of the middle of the freakin thread!

I've never been on a forum who did that, wack as hell. Put them on the sides or wherever else. I thought it was a glitch in the site when I first saw it.

they're really annoying...most of the adds are about something I already know about.

this is completely uncalled for. i know we are all guinneas, and that this site mostly just generates threads with useless/unprofitable information. but it can be fun to read around, and there are those handful of people in each sport that actually provide good info if one is able to weed through.

the ads deteriorate the site so massively. there are other sports gambling forums out there, and covers WAS the best one. if i have to see an ad 2x larger than any post in every single thread, i may just stop opening threads. it's honestly very very disgusting.

These ads are as bad as seeing posters banned then suddenly unbanned?  wonder if they are taking out ad space to get themselves unbanned.

was Covers sold recently, because crazy things are happening here.

Get rid of the ads or I will personally visit every thread telling people to install Adblock. And when you ban my account others will follow suit. What's so difficult to understand? Upgrade website and install decent adds (see mlb.com) or stop trying to beat the dead horse and make money where there is none to be made. Advertisers will be idiots to pay for THIS
