Looks like all of the media spin masters are out in full force trying to turn the Earthquake/tsunami disaster into political rhetoric...But I think the real lack scientific information makes the viewer of these people as susceptible to misinformation as other other side..

http://www.newshounds.us/2011/03/18/beck_dismisses_potential_radiation_deaths_in_japan_as_media_overhype.php

"First, ann Coulter trotted out on The O'Reilly Factor last night (3/18/11) with her claim that radiation is good for you. "

"Then, Glenn Beck, the king of incendiary rhetoric came on to complain that the media had overblown the concern about radiation leaks in Japan because “the biggest number they can come up with is 4,000 people will eventually die.” But, like Coulter before him, Beck didn't say a word about going over there."

"Surely O'Reilly knew that Beck has been off-the-charts crazy this week with his rantings. Perhaps for that reason or maybe because O'Reilly knows Beck may not be a colleague much longer or maybe out of contrariness, O'Reilly made a point of distancing himself from Beck and playing the voice of reason."

Oreilly > Beck

Glenn beck is nuttier than squirrel garbage.  Oreilly is a giant douche who is usually wrong, but the man is obviously not a raving lunatic.  Anyone who takes beck seriously should be involuntarily comitted as a danger to themselves and others.

Not to mention all the money you can save on night time illumination around the house as your family members give off that 'healthy glow'.

i cant say that hes necessarily wrong.  just look at the posters on here, ppl where already saying 1000s of ppl were going to die from radiation at a time when the level was so low, it didnt even warrant notifying the govt.  and you had the surgeon general saying ppl should take iodine tablets, EU leaders where saying days ago that the japan reactors where uncontrollable, and fox is the one that allegedly fear mongers right?

just look at all the chernobyl and 3 mile island misinformation thats out there, i wonder how so many ppl become misinformed (sarcasm)

now that power has been restored to the generator that was knocked off line, thus allowing them to cool the reactor as designed, i wouldnt be surprised if everything is fine by monday and no one dies from this.

i agree, i dont listen to her, dont follow her, but lets not dismiss the medias overblown reaction bc coulter said something dumb.  and for the record, the media (and yes espn too) overblows just about everything now since we are in a 24/7 multiple network/online media conglomerate society.

You really been talking out of your behind on this issue....you should have quit days ago like I suggested.

One of more of those primary containment vessels has probably been breached.  In all likelihood partially-melted fuel has fallen through those breaches and is now at the bottom of those buildings.

There is also the issue of the smoldering spent fuels rods that caught fire and are also probably now a heap of melted metal and uranium.

You think they can go in there with a shovel and just scoop that stuff up?

There will be one or more concrete sarcophagus's.....just like Chernobyl....marking the site of this disaster....the one you claim with be fine and dandy come Monday.

Well don't know much about her but and comments like they made are designed to cause a rift between people.

"Neo fascist climate change movement?!"  What the darn are you babbling about?  With comments like that, you and Ann would get along nicely.  Maybe you should read (i don't recommend listening, as hearing her voice constitutes aural rape) more of her drivel.  Judging by your ill informed rant against climate science, you would undoubtedly be in agreement on most issues.

i meant fine as in under control.

what are you basing your assumptions on? youve repeatedly made 'scientific' claims on this issue, do you have any experience with nuclear material or with nuclear power?

radiation has surely leaked from the worst hit reactor, but guess what, they have these things called containment domes (if chernobyl had one, no one would know the name chernobyl bc it wouldnt have been a big deal).  furthermore, do you have any proof of the "melted fuel falling out of the bottom"?

and what fuel rods caught fire? you realize the explosions that occured a few days ago was from releasing steam right?

you dont even have a clue what you are talking about and prove it every time try and talk on this subject.  you were probably one of the idiots who thought 3 mile island was something to be worried about.

Nuts making videos of blowing up kids?!  I have no friggin clue what you are talking about, but it sounds reprehensible.  I don't have a "side" unless you consider science to be one.  Climate change is occuring, and it is largely due to human activity. Read the papers. Subscribe to the climate science journals.  I do.

Beck comes across as if you are supposed to take him seriously and I think over a million people in the USA follow his words and take them to heart as the god to honest truth...

Oreilly will speak his opinion and give his "spin", but he is meant to be interpreted as a biased narrator or moderator of discussion...

Beck is a monologue brain washer you speaks to his audience presenting what he claims to be indisputable facts... like he is giving a lecture

Fox news used to be more clever in their presentation, but with Beck it is simply mister rodgers in a sweater talking from the TV to the lonely lost children of america...
