BTW,  I really don't like newt.  Typical politician that denies the graft on his side and rails about the graft on the other.  Very sanctimonious.

But really? Media Matters.  Bunch of bipolar freaks kept chained naked to their desks watching fox news 24/7.  They have to defecate in a bucket under their chairs to avoid missing any factual errors or spin from the fox/gop media.

you get it....

Humor... the thread and source not to be taken seriously

but looks like some people got a little defensive/reactive... I guess there are a few Sensitive posters who take the politics forum so seriously because it is the only meaningful thing in their life.. spending their whole lives consumed with trying to find spin/skew for their rhetoric

they are just a bunch of bipolar freaks kept chained naked to their desks watching Obama 24/7.  They have to defecate in a bucket under their chairs to avoid missing any factual errors or spin from the MSNBC/liberal media...

Opposed to a few Very Sensitive posters who take the PBox Forum so serious, because it gives meaning to their life ...and makes them feel like one of the boyz ...

...that they would want to strip others of their 2nd Amendment right and restrict them from posting, in that Forum...

Politics should be discussed in the politics forum, that is what it is there for...

PB is a punishment for those that have violated the rules/laws of covers... So just like jail, you don't have the same freedoms if you have chosen to conduct yourself in a manner that results in you being locked up...

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime...

This is not rocket science

"Politics should be discussed in the politics forum, that is what it is there for"

That doesn't make sense ...you are saying all other topic's are ok to discuss in the PBox except politics ......... what makes the topic of politics any different then other subject matter ?

Would you restrict someone from the Movies and T.V.or Technology Forums from talking about those topics if they are boxed?

..or say if someone who has not violated the rules/laws of covers and is not boxed ..why is not ok for them to post political topic's in the PBox ?

This is actually a good discussion that I hope mods and posters pick up on...

This is not a contest of infantile bashing, homophobic slurs and spell checking...  but a dialog and exchange of ideas...  This is what separates you from the rest of your "crew"...

I am not saying that all other topics are okay...  Basically if you are "trolling" using topics like race, religion. politics or other subjects that are known to bring about a reaction then you are showing that you do not know how to conduct yourself appropriately...

The way I see it is that this is a gambling website and in the PB is a place for those who are boxed to post their plays when they cannot access the appropriate forum...

Access to all forums is not a right but a privilege... No one is restricting rights, posters make choices to forfeit them...  So once in the box the content of your posts should be restricted also...This is a part of the rehabilitation process of getting touts/trolls back on track...

It is like how felons are restricted in their rights to arms... You dont see the primary focus of the NRA and other gun/arms groups advocating that people who have made choices to forfeit their rights not be stripped of them...

How about some personal accountability and responsibility...  Or are we whinging about the system being unfair

Once again if you cant do the time, dont do the crime...

Perhaps if the individual is boxed for "trolling", then doing more "trolling" in the PB should result in their release?  Like if some one is jailed for assault and then continually repeats his behavior of concern by assaulting guards in jail, then he should be released early?

But let me get back to answering your question... I would not restrict people from posts that were not inflammatory... but if the post about movie or tech was meant simply to "troll" then I do not see it as acceptable and the sentence in the PB should be extended...

your second question is an interesting one as I do not I think that it is not okay, but that it is more appropriate...  I mean you show your understanding of the basic norms of appropriate forums (based on your appropriate behavior), this should not be a stretch for you to understand...

But this is my opinion... I am not a mod and I am not on of the "Boyz" in the PB so I cannot speak for them and their "culture" in the box...  but they have made it clear what their culture is there around "political trolling"....

But "political trolling" and political discussion are different things...  you can tell who is exchanging and debating views and who is simply spouting ridiculously skewed/biased rhetoric

I wonder how they would feel about a political discussion because they have spent a long time of simple "cut and paste" rhetoric and grew tired of it like many of the people in the Politics forum...

dl36,I understand what you are saying and you do make some valid points.. .

.....but saying that Politic's as a topic should not be in the Pbox is absurd...it is not the topic, that gets people boxed or banned it's their inappropriate comments they make in side of the thread ..they could be made in the Food and Fitness Forum, for that matter ......

..and as Rizzo posted in Welcome to the Penalty Box :

"This part of the Forum is a no-holds barred section where the majority of our standard Forum rules do not apply.  It’s a place where users can come to settle differences, bashing is tolerated and you won’t be penalized for breaking our standard rules."

"No holds barred" ..it doesn't say except political topic's ....

As far as.. "once in the box the content of your posts should be restricted also"...This is a part of the rehabilitation process of getting touts/trolls back on track"

Well, good luck with trying to rehabilitate a tout..they should NOT be boxed ,they should be banned ...and from what I have seen most of them are .......check the Covers Help Forum for verification ... now saying that once someone is boxed the content of their post should be restricted ...isn't that spelled out in the Community Manifesto already ..?

We are not talking about the content of a post, but the eligibility of a specific subject or topic...

So if member that post something against the Manifesto in the Food Forum ..like say ..'certain people like certain foods because they are ' ..etc  if they are then boxed for that ...they should not be allowed to start a a thread in the box about cumquat's ......or any other foods ..?

What you are claiming by not allowing Political topic threads to be posted in the Pbox ..amounts to double jeopardy ..

Since I feel you have some experience in some form of rehabilitation with people ..doesn't it make more sense to allow boxed political's- for instance - to post topic's that were the source of their trouble in the first place to see how they can handle it and prove that they are rehabilitated ...just posting to sports topics may their hide true rehab...

..and I do know, that you are not one of the "Boyz" in the PB .....because if you were you would have been invited to 2nd's secret Lair ( tree house) years ago ...in which you were not ...(side note: members not boxed who post in the Pbox... who form group or circle are called.. their  "culture" ...and not a C.J ..I see.

Lastly, as far as  "political trolling" and political discussion are different things"....I have noticed that only progressives and those from the far left use the word troll or trolling ..but that is a whole separate topic ....that can be discussed at some other point in time ...

SS,

You make some good points and I can see where you are coming from with the "anything goes" idea in the PB...

But to continue this discussion in this forum would be both inappropriate at hypocritical...

I appreciate your input/effort and your ability to have an intelligent and civilized conversation... this has always separated you from the others in your crew who continue infantile attempts at humor and bashing... like

relegated to correcting spelling

DL why are you spamming the threads with the same question

DJBrow already addressed that when truckdriver first showed up by saying something like "a KNOWN alias" created a new name

That should tell you it wasnt one of us, or we would have been boxed / banned too

Because you 5FF and Woop are engaging in the same behavior... simple consistency...

I wonder what linesmen think about the compulsive bumping of threads that are weeks sometimes months old...

Newt Gingrich's Legacy As A Political Commentator...........

Pressed on “Fox News Sunday” about his adulterous past, Newt Gingrich said it was not hypocritical for him to impeach Bill Clinton while he cheated on his own wife because he never lied under oath.

“I don’t know what you would have had me do because…the president of the United States [was] committing perjury."

The former House speaker from Georgia said it didn’t bother him that he was throwing rocks at Clinton as president while living in his own metaphorical glass house. He said he would have resigned his leadership post if he didn’t think he could go after Clinton for breaking the law.

“It’s not about personal behavior, and it’s not about what he did in the Oval Office,” Gingrich said of his failed 1998 effort to destroy Clinton. “You can condemn that. You can say it’s totally inappropriate. It was about a much deeper and more profound thing: Does the president of the United States have to obey the law?

Gingrich say's he's not a hypocrite...but he is a RINO and an adulterer. Lets get it straight....

Newt you also took an Oath when you married wife #1 & #2 ..
