I didn't buy it to be a holier-than-thou douchenozzle. It quite simply seemed like an awesome car when I test drove it, and I wanted the gas mileage.
Have had NO problems in 91,000 miles. Thing is spacious as hell. Put the back seats down and you can haul a lot.
I go out on dirt roads a lot, and I routinely pass big, clunky pick ups, and leave them in my dust.

Payed $6,500 for it two years ago. Runs like a top. A women I know sold it to me cause she won a new one at a casino and didn't want to pay taxes on it. Taxes came to $6,500. I pay her tax and get her old car. |

#182 Posted: 10/2/2012 12:01:01 PM hahaha....I like this thread. Not for bravado....just interesting. My dad drove a Buick Skylark back in the 80's and 90's and put 360K miles on it. He then drove an Olds wagon to over 300K miles. He recently upgraded to a Volvo wagon with just over 100K miles on it. He doesn't have any expenses at all other than insurance and utilities. He just can't stomach buying a new car.
I have just over a year to pay on my car and only have 45K on it. I am looking forward to at least a couple of years of NO CAR PAYMENTS. |

#186 Posted: 10/4/2012 10:43:15 PM Curious to know does anyone drive one of those new Audi S6? I see there from time to time and they always catch my attention. Wondering if anyone has one of the newer models and how do they like it? |

#189 Posted: 10/5/2012 12:59:36 PM I jumped to the last page. Don't know if anyone else has a Chrysler Crossfire. Been a great car and goes at least 120mph. I live in the country so the uneven, bumpy roads scared me off from going all out. May not go to 150 like they say they test them but sure it'll go way better than my puny 120. Handles nice and great brakes. Very expensive tires. My headliner is getting bad from the Texas heat. The glue in the front started melting this summer and I'll have to deal with that. Otherwise, it's my middle age crazy car and running great.Expensive to do maintenance but I would still recommend if you want a fun sports car.
Mine is a 1st year 2004 and I think they only made them until 2006 so I will hold onto it and see if it there is a market for it a few years down the road. People are often asking me what I want for it. Not interested in selling. It's a matter of taste with sports cars but mine is in good shape and hoping it may be valuable as a collector car some day since so few were made. That's it.

#192 Posted: 10/6/2012 8:30:45 AM I know that some are made in elsewhere in North America, but when you buy American the money comes back to this country, You invest in America. You can disguise it all you want.
During world war 2, people bought America and supported America. They bought bonds to help fund the war.. Last year we had two wars going on, yet some people didn't give a squat and still bought foreign cars.To me that's not the America I knew. |

#194 Posted: 10/7/2012 12:12:44 AM My wife and I have a 2006 Mazda 6 and a 2011 Kia Sorrento both bought and paid for ..... we could afford more expensive cars but I just don't get the boner you guys get from flushing money down the toilet every month.
Looking at replacing the Mazda 6 with a truck. F-150 possibly ....
I'm more about practicality than flash. |

I have a 2010 prius, same thing, for no other reason than I can fill up 2-3 times a month and pay 30 bucks each time. I'm 6' 4", and while I know I could find something a little more ideal for my size, it's pretty roomy and put the seats down in the back and you can fit a surprising amount of garbage in there. Great car. |

#198 Posted: 10/9/2012 7:26:20 PM A 2007 Lincoln navigator fully loaded with captain chairs in middle row. (gas was killing me at $85 a week) just got a 1999 corolla with 17500 miles on it for nothing (hardly driven and $35 a week in gas). Just had to pay for body damage from a previous accident. Little cramped but it does the job!!! |

#200 Posted: 10/25/2012 7:47:59 AM 1981 Mercury Bobcat. It still runs like a sports car, but being that the gas tank is in the back, if I ever get rear-ended, I am probably going up in flames. |
