0-0, +0.00

Fairmont Park #3 (1:54)
Reba Nell has ran some pretty bad races, but they came against better competition with little time to prep. Has run two straight at this distance, stretched out a bit more this time and running against weaker. Was beat by Elusive Silver last time out (ES finished 2nd, Reba 4th), but Reba’s speed a bit better, especially with a bit more time off. Tydro’s a guess, think he’ll do alright with his step up to the mile, and Toton Teddie’s the only horse in the field that’s faced better competition than Reba. See a couple horses in this field I feel are a bit over-valued on the open.
Prediction: 6-8-4-7-5-3-1-2
$1 Exacta Box (6-8-4-7), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (6-8-4), $6

Finger Lakes #5 (2:58)
Saichi Sweeping is 4-0 career, trainer’s on fire, jockey’s on fire, has faced better competition before this, and been consistent in those four starts. Do the Tiger was the only horse in the field with speed to keep up, but scratched. Taking a shot with the 7/1/9 in the 2nd leg of the exacta and tri as I expect them to be up front early, and some decent speed in a 6F race, but probably not enough for the win.
Prediction: 2-10-7-1A-9-3-5-1-6-4-2B-8
$1 Exacta 2 w 7,1,9, $3
$1 Trifecta 2 w 7,1,9 w 7,1,9, $6

Parx #9 (3:50)
These turf races at Parx have been paying something fierce lately. Saw a $600 exacta yesterday and a $4000+ tri, will shoot for it here. Favorite scratched so losing a bit of value, but still tons there. Be My Candy bred for distance, likes the turf just as well as the others, and has the best speed figs in the race. Moving against better competition, most notably Sweet as You Are, who is taking a step down. Threw in the 2 (Game Fair coming off 1 good performance in a 4th placer at Monmouth) and 9 with some decent distance and turf appearances. Think this race is wide open, and should pay off rather well regardless. Be My Candy gets a better jockey, and back to the turf where the performances have been good. Hard to argue with this value at 12/1.
Prediction: 4-6-2-11-9-1-12-10-5-3-7-8
$1 Exacta Box (4-6-2-9), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (4-6-2), $6
$2 WPS (Be My Candy-4), $6

Suffolk Downs #9 (4:24)
Another jockey switch on the 8 here, which isn’t all that good of a circumstance, and neither is the speed ratings (lowest in field). Distance is there, and the competition really isn’t. Not that great of a field. Going to leave in the favorite (Storm Slew), finished 2nd in a similar spot last time out, just not sure how he rebounds early on pace having to hold it for a mile + again. Also going to include Hi It’s Me. Moving up against better, but adding blinkers and second start of the year of a poor 5F performance and at 20/1, worth a shot. Bred for distance, should pay off today (hopefully).
Prediction: 8-1-1A-5-6-9-2-4-7-3
$1 Exacta Box (8-1-6-9), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (8-1-6), $6
$2 WPS (Get Ready Go-8), $6

+ $119.30

Indiana Downs #2 (5:20)
Wheels of Hope failed as a big favorite last time out as he got out early on the pace and had nothing left. Should see a slight change today as he drops down and faces weaker competition and early speed in only a 6F race should help. Like Wheels of Hope, Killenaule’s Best has also failed as a favorite, but he’s failed the last two times out. He lacks a bit of early speed, but I have to keep him in there just b/c of lack of competition in the field in terms of class. Also throwing in D’wisecat and the #3 as he was pretty much stuck right with Wheels of Hope the last time out and ran the exact race. Should get better today. Have to include My Prize Now as he’s the only other horse to run in this company. Not the best speed figures but has shown some late kick as of late under new trainer.
Prediction: 1-7-3-10-11-2-6-4-8-9-5-12
$1 Exacta Box (1-7-3-10), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (1-7-3), $6

Indiana Downs #3 (5:45)
Can’t pass up Whata Hoosier at an Indiana track right? Horse has gotten better every start, coming off a win facing a bunch of what seems like even horses at greater than a mile distance. Speed figure not all that great, but getting better. Bred for distance, so mile helps here. Unsure about Ana Kena. Didn’t want to include but Distance is there. Probably not much of a speedster (and probably better on turf), but will get out early as shown in the past. Has not raced in a while, hopefully the break brings back to early form. My Girl Patty moves up to the mile again and has shown to be a factor at this distance on dirt. And My Flashy Teton goes after the mile for the second time in a month with a decent speed and dropping down in class. This race has a bit of value, probably need to avoid the 1 and 1A to cash, but I’m OK with that considering one of them returns to dirt (could be good I guess), and both have shown little to no results at this distance and at this track.
Prediction: 3-2-8-9-7-6-1A-1-5-10-11-4
$1 Exacta Box (3-2-8-9), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (3-2-8), $6

Indiana Downs #5 (6:35)
Back to the 6F in race #5 here, and a couple of horses that are starting for the first time. Think I have to include the 1’s as they’re on a 6 of 9 streak with winners in their starts. Not necessarily my favorite, just have to include them. Going to like Cat In the Bag here, as he returns to dirt which has been much better for him, and has faced better than these before and ran faster as well. The #2 Lioness Vegas and #6 Pure Ambition are pretty much in a similar spot. Better on dirt, at shorter distances, and have faced much better than what this race has to offer. Probably need some early speed to appear at some point for at least one of these to hit.
Prediction: 10-2-6-1-5-7-1A-3-11-9-4-8
$1 Exacta Box (10-2-6-1), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (10-2-6), $6

Mountaineer #9 (10:20)
Tough race and some pretty even ponies. Elusive Schemes moves up a bit in class but at the same time gets away from the mile+ lengths and back to the 6F distance here. Had an unreal workout about a week ago, and gets a new trainer. Has really good dirt speed and in a shorter race, should be evident that he uses it. Horse can close fast, hasn’t raced in a while, but trust in trainer. Brother Keith gets switch to a hot jockey after an impressive couple performances and very familiar with this course and has faced much better in recent months. Bank of Dad coming off a race where he failed as a favorite and drops back down to the 6F length where he showed impressive speed about this time last year. And El Tajin, the #8, just won a similar race against better competition. Has been consistent this year, gave him a bit more of some time off so he didn’t bounce. He could, but I had to use him just b/c of lack of strength in rest of field.
Prediction: 4-6-2-8-3-9-7-5-1
$1 Exacta Box (4-6-2-8) or (Top 4 – no scratches available yet), $12
$1 Trifecta Box (4-6-2) or (Top 3 – no scratches available yet), $6

I like Xpress Bet but there a quite a few of them. Lot of people like TwinSpire. All legit and pay track odds but if you hit a big one you will pay the taxman.
