Department of Homeland Security Sec. Napolitano  ....'the Southwest border with Mexico is more secure now than it's ever been'...

Shocking video ...of what our present government calls a more secure border ...

Never better Big Sis........

Its relative SS..I know you love to take a shot at a democrat whenever you can, but is she really wrong?

What did we have previous that is better than what we have currently?

The reality of what you are posting is less of a slam on Janet and more of a reality regarding the discussion of a border fence we have gone over here a zillion times.

Border fences wont stop anything, that is the point..not bashing a comment that Janet said which is probably completely accurate.

This administrations reduction of worksite enforcement, unilateral dismissing of deportation cases and promotion of amnesty for illegal aliens all work against border security....

When Napolitano was Governor of Arizona...she sent countless requests to Washington to take action in securing our Southern border.   But,as Secretary of Homeland Security, she claims that the border is “as secure now as it has ever been.”

That's the point.. . Our Southern border wasn’t secure when she was governor and it’s not secure now...

Both the fence and the cost are irrelevant. It is "selling" the need for the fence that is the issue. Do any Americans really believe a fence will stop illegal entry? Why not stop the opportunity for employment if you are really concerned. Why not go after companies that hire illegal workers, Tyson foods and the like. Price of Chicken? Not a hot button issue if you are willing to look the other way so you can eat inexpensive chicken nuggets every day.

Obama (and his supporters) claimed that he would fix this problem and many others. He has fallen flat on virtually every promise. He has been far worse than Bush and the country's problems are markedly worse than 4 years ago.

If your continual basis is what Bush did or didn't do, and nothing is ever the responsibility of obama then there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason to keep him around. He can't create anything on his own except misery.

What is tough to understand?

SS took yet another swipe at a democrat and one of his larger targets (Janet) and I disagree with his conclusions.

The border IS likely as or more secure than it was in the past..so does that mean it is good enough? Of course not..but that wasnt the intention of the bashing thread.

We arent willing to make the commitment necessary to secure the border..it costs a ton of money up front and a yearly commitment for eternity.

And the idea of policing the private sector to stop hiring is a short sided and impossible idea.

What Janet is saying isnt wrong..things probably are better than they were prior to Obama, but for a variety of other reasons..the point is she wasnt lying or exaggerating. I think she is right.

"SS took yet another swipe at a democrat "

My god man this is a poiltics Forum ...if I had a dollar for every time you took a swipe at Reagan ,GW Bush and Dr.Ron Paul I would be rolling in cash ...

Hold on now ....now members are being judged not by what they post but their intent ....you say you're a Indy,  that leans a litttle to the left ...ok ..but that intent comment makes me think you are full tilt ..

I think she is wrong ..she 's been caught lying before ,,this isn't the first time ...

SS,

you created a thread for the sole purpose of bashing a democrat. I do take shots at some repubs and I am not a straight defender of dems.

There seems to be a repeating theme of you making threads to take shots at dems and this does not seem to be the first time you took a shot at Janet.

I also think there are plenty of reasons to think that the border is at least AS secure to pre-Obama and good reason to think it is MORE secure.

Part of the reason it seems more secure is because election time isnt here yet so these wacky politicians are not dragging the scare-skeleton out of the closet to stir up the lemmings about the border. As I predicted loony bins like our AZ governor got elected off border reform and have done pretty much nothing about it since being sworn in.

Funny how the fear buzz topics come flying out when it is time to get elected..I am anxiously awaiting straight marriage proposals and fighting to go along with illegals fear mongering, then some anti-gun control crap and we will know voting day is getting close.

I feel for Janet, that position is a total lose-lose proposition. There is no answer to the border so whomever is in charge of the whole thing will never be successful.

WSC, since we are talking about Arizona ..and you have deflected my thread to me and my intentions rather than the subject of the thread..

Let me tell you something about an acquaintance I met while visiting relatives in Fountain Hills Az..he claims to be Mod on another web site ..

He told me he doesn't really have to spend any time moderating Forums ..all he does is check the Help Forum from time to time to see if anyone is complaining ..and go to that forum if the thread and take care of it ..

The rest of the time he watches TV or reading stuff .. doing things with the family and personal business..he said if there is no action/complaints in the help section ..then he claimed ..all he does is go into a Forum and make petty bashing comments in threads to members he knows will question his posts ..so that management will think he's doing his Mod job...and too tied- up to get all the real touts and trouble makers ..the members are complaining about in the help forum ...

I told him.. that I was glad the Moderators on the site I visit have too much integrity to pull that kind of stuff..

I wish that made sense SS.

Glad you enjoyed Fountain Hills, I know a few people who live out there but it is positively not a part of town I would live in for a variety of reasons.

WSC, here someting we canagree on ....as you admitted you do take shots at Republicans and you are not a straight defender of democrats ..for the reason most of their actions are undefensible..

But, isn't a little disingenuous to hammer me for taking shots at Big Sis in the same post, that you call the Republican Governor of Arizona a loony bin ?

..and this isn't the first time you have bad-mouthed, belittle and berated her ..

A few things..

I didnt create a thread to bash someone, you did and do. I could..it wouldnt be tough.

I live in Maricopa County, just not Fountain Hills.

The gov of Arizona is a loony bin, she was elected due to disingenuous pretenses and is a career lifer with zero history of success at what she campaigned at..so she fooled the voters. It isnt hard to do down here, the large percentage of voters are sheep, they follow party lines and the weaknesses of the state prove it.
