Just took a first glance at the PP's for the race.

First impressions: SPEED. People are talking about all the speed in the Derby... 12 of the 14 fillies were either on the lead or within 2 lengths of the pace at the first call in their most recent prep.

Already looking hard at Jemima's Pearl. 10-1 ML... Baffert/Talamo....ran a deceptively good race in the Fantasy where she made progress in the stretch despite chasing quality lone speed in Mamma Kimbo, another Baffert runner who was in off a sharp MSW win.

Gotta think this one will love the extra 1/8th of a mile and the longer stretch.

Im a big fan of Summer Applause in here. Horse has continued to improve in every start and has been extremely wide last two starts. Gomez is one of the best around at working a trip and I think she'll win at 8-1/12-1

And Why Not looks like a solid contender in this race with all that early speed. in her only race at CD she closed very well to finish 2nd behind On Fire Baby. her only race this year was not good but it was off a long layoff so she probably needed it. shes also been working well for this and gets arguably the hottest jockey in the country on a track that he knows very well.... Love for the Oaks, just no time yet.

Considering the last three horse of the year honors went to females.

Heard Jone's horse Believe you can looking awfully good at CD.

I like these: Believe You Can, On Fire Baby, Grace Hall, and Eden's Moon.

Summer Applause is a gift at anything close to 15-1

Could it be as easy as picking the right ones to finish behind Grace Hall

Did Albarado get the boot from Summer Applause in favor of Gomez or did he just choose to stay aboard Hard Not to Like?

I still don't see all this speed in the derby but that is not the topic here.
On fire baby looks like the top selection at 4-1. two for two at churchill downs. Has some nice works. Second time with lasix.
Summer Applause looks like she will be coming late at a big price. Not sure she will be anywhere near 15-1 with gomez and the last two beyers of 96,95. Speed was deadly at FG this year and she may have been compromised at the track.
Beneath I lean on
Grace Hall, J Pearl

That is where I currently sit. Lets see if we get a fast track

Grace Hall. Best horse, but watch for Eden and Broadway. Too much speed though and Grace will stalk and pounce.
