#914 Posted: 4/30/2012 2:24:12 PM It actually is pretty amazing!!! We have the system itself, spreadsheets, people making picks on why it should be a pick, different people utilizing this system to try it in different sports for handicapping, and when you GOOGLE "MLB RPI SYSTEM" We pop up number #2 after espn. |

I don't see how even if the books take notice that it will impact the system at all.....The only thing they could do is over-inflate the juice - but since we are just playing for one win on the series - we don't care about the juice.
Plus if they do over inflate the juice - i'm sure they would get killed on the other side by people betting the dog. |

#919 Posted: 4/30/2012 3:20:27 PM we do care about the juice as over inflating juice would make a 3 game loss that much more costly. , however like you say, if they inflate it to much, people will be all over the dogs. ..So i dunno, other then limiting play, not sure what else they could do ?! |

#920 Posted: 4/30/2012 3:38:34 PM I dont think books will inflate the juice based on this system. Its simply a numbers game to them. How many of us bet on NBA straight up with like -500 odds on the Lakers? Hardly anybody because its ridiculous. ATS is where the books make the money. If the books move the line too much, they may still have us as bettors but who else do they have? Nobody. Wouldnt be profittable I think. But then again, who knows. |

#921 Posted: 4/30/2012 5:13:17 PM They can shift the odds, but I don't think they will, even if we all won every game, they know that most will blow it all on something else. It's the degerate curse. When you start winning, you get cocking and start thinking you can't lose, then you one, then chase the money until it's gone.
I know many of you know what I'm talking about and I have even been guilty of it. |

#922 Posted: 4/30/2012 5:22:14 PM Hey B2W,
Just for you buddy
I updated your MajorCanis workbook to capture the RPI History that you wanted. Take a look.
Basically - everytime you update the RPI (each day) - it captures today's RPI values in the RPI History Tab. You can then view what the RPI for was for each team on any given day on the RPI DB tab.
Right now I just display RPI, Wins, Losses, and Win% but you may want different information in the pivot table or some sort of running graph or calculation. Let me know I also set it up so if the RPI is for today is already in there - it does not capture it again or create duplicate values. So you will have to wait for tomorrow to see the RPI History tab capture new values. Anyway - take a look and let me know what you think. Here is the link.

#923 Posted: 4/30/2012 6:45:17 PM Irage is exactly right, the books don't give a garbage about this or any other system. They know that an overwhelming majority of bettors end up mismanaging their winnings and NEVER end up even making one withdrawal from their book. Even some of you that are posting in this thread will NEVER make any real money off of this system because you will waste the winnings on some stupid behind Aussie Rules game or a rigged tennis match. |

Irage - I see you put "V69", "V102", "V80" in the play line. "V" obviously means visitor, but is the numeric value after that?

RPI difference in relation to how we filter.
VISITOR = < 50 RPI HOME = < 42 RPI
That number is how we determine if a play is a play. |
