Yes because pot smokers are such bad people right? The fact that weed is still somehow illegal is a friggin joke, meanwhile alcohol and cigarettes kill people every friggin day

I tell people all the time you don't have to quit, just use some common sense. I know a lot of successful people, some don't smoke, but I know more who do. I smoke as well, but a couple of years ago when I was 18 I decided I'm not going to smoke all day and be unproductive. For 4 years now I have committed to only smoking at night and I love it. Smoking during the day made me feel like garbage, lazy, and unmotivated to do anything. Smoking at night allows me to accomplish everything during the day, and then sit down at night relax and smoke. Marijuana is a great thing when it isn't being abused. The problem is most abuse it, and then give the intelligent and successful potheads a bad name.

It's going to get legalized in Ontario next Wednesday because it's unconstitutional to charge some one for possesion of it  - I'd like to organize a class action lawsuit for everyone who's life has been challenged by it being illegal  It's only been Illegal because it cuts into the Alcohol and Tobacco companies profitsand they have Power because they are already Rich

Hey if you can be successful on it go for it. For me personally, I feel lazy and unmotivated the next day, that's awesome you can balance everything

No disrespect malkin, but that isn't the reason. Marijuana is illegal because back in the day hemp threatened to replace many industries which involved the wealthiest people in the world. This would include oil, lumber, cotton and a couple of other industries. Much like now, these people are who ultimately make the final decisions, and there was no way they would allow for a plant such as hemp which could be easily mass produced to put an end to their massive and greedy corporations. So by making marijuana illegal, hemp plants were obviously illegal to grow, basically abolishing any opportunity to threaten their multi billion dollar corporations.

And you belong in jail if you have EVER in your life gone 1 mile per hour above the speed limit.

Don't be a fool, as hard as that is for you.

ya those wealthy companies to - I can't believe the judges haven't fixed the problem 50 years ago, and all these innocent people have to suffer for it. Matt Mernagh is going back to court on Monday and Tuesday he is almost guarenteeing victory for the innocent. I sure would like to sue the law for the garbage i've went through and others. Sometimes i'd like to do something to make a statement like take a bunch of cops out . Why is it still Illegal today it's like were still in the dark ages Oh well by Wednesday it should be all good - have you been following the Matt Mernagh trial?

The American government is evil - it's probably still illegal there because it can cure cancer - there sure is a lot of evil people in the world so I wouldn't doubt it

I'm trying to quit smoking with some success, well one thing I do know is working out really help. Whenever you got a craving, run like hell or doing the max pushups you can sustain before fainting. And nicotine is supposed to be far more addictive than weed so there you go.

what about positive addictions?

I think THC is a break even addiction in terms of pros/cons... which for self destructive people breaking even is not bad in comparison to the alternative...

There are plenty of people in the world that smoke on a regular basis and will give you 100 health reasons why it's actually good for you, but of course I'm not going to do that.

I honestly don't even like the way weed makes me feel, so it's easy for me not to do it. The whole social thing is probably one of the reasons why I couldn't quit smoking cigarettes at an early age, cuz everyone I knew did it. I still smoke to this day.

Well you're finishing school now and are probably looking to get a legitimate job, and every legitimate job will drug test you. That should be enough motivation for you to stop, so you won't have to bother drinking gallons of water a day, or trying other ways to beat a test.

You said it yourself that your head is clear when you go a couple of days without smoking. Now would be a good time to focus on getting up in the work world and making some serious money. At the end of a long work week, do what normal people do, grab a beer and go out to happy hour with your co-workers.

If you can't quit cold turkey, you should really space out your sessions. It will save you money because you can get high without smoking your whole stash.

Think about how much better it is when you go a few days without rubbing one out.

For the record, I plan on quitting smoking cigarettes after I get married and my wife gets pregnant. Don't want my kids to suffer cuz I'm a bonehead.

The absurdity, ignorance, and stupidity of this statement is something I can barely comprehend.

Sorry slam, but a lot of what you said is just ignorant. A lot of what you said in actuality is just conforming to society and the absurd laws/regulations that exist. Just because alcohol is legal and marijuana is not doesn't mean that it's better to go for a beer with co workers. To say that any legitimate job requires testing is also extremely ignorant and false. Unless you want to be a professional athlete or a law enforcement officer of some sort, there is absolutely no testing in 99% of jobs in the world. Times have changed and more people are opening their eyes to real studies and information that actually involves some level of intelligence and common sense. Are you implying that normal people don't smoke marijuana? To tell you the honest truth, the most successful people I know who make 6+ figures practically all smoke marijuana. Think about the amount of potheads that have great jobs and are successful people, and then think about all the alcoholics that have great jobs and are successful people. The difference between the two may be staggering to you, but would just be an obvious to open minded people such as myself.

At the end of the day, as you are killing yourself smoking a cigarette that does absolutely nothing for you, I'm sitting down smoking a harmless joint (obviously some what unhealthy for your lungs) and relieving stress. Cigarettes are the most pointless things in the entire planet. I quite smoking over a year ago and will only have a smoke when I drink because that is the only time I ever crave or want it.
